I planned on buying the K&N intake from Ken next, but if the SCT will eliminate off the line hesitation, that might be my next purchase. The car really did seem to move once it got going. Two other things I forgot to mention. It was 97 degrees and about 80% humidity that day. People tell me that prolly played a toll on my times also. Do you think magnaflows will be very beneficial? I thought the 03+ cars already had a good exhaust system.
beaups said:my 03 is slow as crap recently especially when it's hot out. those times are pretty bad and mine would probably be worse. if you have 0 power in the lowend you might check your coils.
Once again the SCT solves this. That and an Intake will be your best gains. After that you have to reduce weight (take all the junk out of the trunk, run with light fuel load etc.TheRebel said:It's not zero power. Its just a bad hesitation. Once the car actually moves it feels good. I think I should have punched it at the first yellow light. By the time the car actually moved I think the light would have been green.
Ahh, letting up on the gas explains the times also. Just keep it to the floor, its not going to hurt it, probably less likely to hurt it. Does the 03 start in 1st in the SST mode?, I know they started doing that somewhere along the line. My 02 will start in 2nd in SST mode, when you floor it it does drop to 1st, but its a very pathetic launch. I have to floor it in D5, right after take off I move the shifter over to SST and get ready for the 1-2. If it starts in 1st in SST, you won't have to screw with that. Anyways you will be in the 9s in no time.TheRebel said:I was practicing last night when shifting in SST mode. I think I am starting to get the hang of it. I was trying to power shift (keeping the car floored and shifting without letting off the gas, this might sound stupid but this is the first automatic car I have ever had and figured the SST would work like power shifting a manual car) but when I let off the throttle, bumped the stick and then got back into it, the car shifted so much quicker. I can't wait till I get a chance to run it again and see what kind of times I get.
