What was everyone's first car?

Ahhhh...memories of my 1984 Ford Escort L. 4 speed manual, manual steering, manual brakes, manual seats, mirrors, windows, etc. 158,000 miles on it when I bought it. I believe that I had it for 3 months before the rear shock towers rusted and caved in, causing the rear wheels to fall into the wheel wells. Totally pathetic car, but I only paid $1 for it :)

Ok I,m showing my age here. My first car was a 1957 Chevy Belair 2 door hardtop. Completely stock. 283, powerglide transmission. Purchase price $0. A lady in my neighborhood wanted it out of her garage. It didn't run. All it needed was a distributer rotor and cap. I sold it a year later for $325.00. I thought I made a killing at the time. That was 1974. Thing sure have changed since then.

I turned 16 in February of this year, and as my first car I got... a 2001 black Lincoln LS6... I just got a job, so now I am trying to make it look sweet. Since I'm 16, I'm more worried about looks rather than performance, so yeah.

My first car was a 1987 Ford Tempo. My dad bought the car new in 1986 when I was 7. In 1994 it became my sister's first car then after she blew up the motor in 1997 and my dad had a friend drop the 3.0L V6 from a 1994 tempo into it, it became my first car.
I kind of miss that little car.

94 chevy caprice (LT-1)

wanted to make an impala ss clone. all i ever got around to doing was removing the ugly side molding, painting some of the chrome body trim to match the body, and putting on the impala rims and grill.

First car was a 1986 Buick Riviera. $5000 That was the model that had the touchscreen computer to basically control anything with the interior. Pretty advanced for it's time. Sold that for a '92 T-Bird which I sold for a 2001 Ranger which I sold for a 2002 F150 which brings me to my 2004 LS.

'73 VW Super Beetle with the semi-auto transmission (What a wierd, complicated, stupid invention!)

Bought in 1990 in my last year of HS. I wish I still had that car.

It wasn't a bad car, but the LS is really an upgrade for me. Anyways it was a 98 Ford Contour, and it was actually pretty reliable and sturdy. I took it off a ledge in a back alley...about a 8" drop and the car didn't even get damaged.

Coupe De' Ville

Bought it three days after I became married. It was a canary yellow '79 Coupe De' Ville. It was the first of three owned. All 79's The last one I purchased was one of the first throttle body injector applications Caddilac began marketing. Same 425 engine, but with a really particular punch to it. I dressed it with 235 75 15 tires and slotted rims. It was a real looker. Mint mettalic green.

First car

Mine was a 1979 Ford Thunderbird. Ice cold air and automatic tranny. 302 motor with 2 barrel carb. If I knew better at the time, I should have converted to a 4 bbl. The transmission was solid as a rock. The motor had the lifter tick to it, but, it was a stong motor. I sold it to a bunch of mexicans for double what I bought it for. The ball joint went out on the passenger side. It took me and my friend over a month to replace it. It was riveted in and all we had was a cold chisel and a hammer. Today it would take us a couple of hours. Wow, how far we've come!

My 1st car was a 1959 olds delta 88 that I paid $50.00 for, It had a monster engine with a real small 2b carb....It looked so funny, This giant manifold with this tiny carb in the middle. That was back in 1968, Got drafted, sold her for $250.00, Thought I made a killing:lol:

1983 Ford Ranger baby!! biggest POS on the planet. Whenever it rained the truck would shut off and I was too poor to buy parts to fix it. That truck didnt have a straight piece on it. We used to run over road signs, trash cans, and those orange plastic things the construction crews use. And we shot the bed full of holes. I miss those days.

95 Mercury Cougar V6
92 Mercury Cougar V6
94 Thunderbird Supercoupe (still have to rare to sell) 1 of 2400
82 F-150 302 sh!t brown, a real prize
98 Grand Prix
2000 V6 manual Lincoln LS

My first car was a 1967 Ford Fairlane 500XL Fastback. Baby blue with black deluxe interior with bucket seats and console. It had the factory 285hp 390 2-bbl V-8 with Cruiso-O-Matic "Select Shift" automatic transmission. It also had power steering, but no A/C or power brakes. It had about 109K miles when I bought it and the only thing I had to do was put in new carpet and redo the driver's seat. I later installed dual exhaust before showing my a$$ and wrecking it at 120+mph and walking away without a scratch. I REALLY miss that car.
