How to remove stripped phillips head screw?

There are two screws holding the butterflies in place that are absolutely not budging. At this point, these tiny screws are almost completely stripped. This is the part and screw location I'm talking about:

The screws are very small. Very soft. Very tight. And probably lock-tited as well.

Presuming the heads are stripped now, how can I get the final two screws out without damaging the shaft that they are screwed into?
 
I believe those screws are hollow and are pinched on the back side. You are supposed to file the excess screw of the back before removing. I would file/grind maybe dremel the head off completely then try to use the excess if you didn't file off to grip with perhaps a small vise grips.
 
Drill completely through with a drill bit smaller than the diameter of the screws, the heads will fall off then you can tap the stud out using a small tap or a small streight screw driver.
 
As strange as this may sound.....Put some Comet on it. ( Like the stuff you use to clean a toilet) Moisten the screwdriver tip and dip it in the Comet then attempt the screw. I saw this right after I started working in aviation and its saved my Ass too many times to count. No garauntees but its worth a shot I would think.

Your right! That does work...What else works that I used to do, (chris you reminded me of this:cool: ) The metal powder from a table top grinder also works, and the metal particles are also magnetic so they stick to the screw driver!:D Also the pumas compound we used to set the valves in their seats on heads!
 
If you dont have a screw extractor. HEAT IT UP. I deal with this on a daily basis. Allen head screws are the worst Heat it up and you will be amazed how easy some/most screws/bolts come out. I have worked in machine shops, MM2/SS in the navy for 5 years, and now I am a Forklift Tech. When I say heat it up, use a torch or a good butane torch. Dont cut it, or heat it too much, butterflies may melt. Just until it is glowing.
 
ON one of mine, I used a set of needle nose vise grips. Turn it over and turn the plates until they are vertical. Then you can use the vise grips from the bottom.

Very frustrating, things had been going so well. The passenger side came apart and went back together beautifully. I tested this with a can of compressed air and there was no air leak.

The first 6 screws came out on the other side pretty neatly two.... then I ended up with these two stragglers.

we do the same thing with our aircraft but with valve laping compound, its amazeing how well it works. that in combinaton with a manuel impact driver screws useually will come out, other wis use a dremil
