well i just bought an iphone. it's really nice and has a lot to offer, i'm pretty happy with the purchase. i was originally thinking about getting an avid-d3 system but i was thinking since the iphone has a lot of the same things if not more in some areas (can play video, music, images, but doesn't have gps but can get maps+directions), i wanted to maybe setup a docking area around the center 2 vents and mount it horizontally.

now for my question.... with STOCK 2003 ls radio, would i be able to hook up my ihpone to play into it. also, 1 more thing, while playing a video on the iphone [if it can hookup to the car] with stock radio will you hear the sound from the video? i know the iphone has no video-out so that makes me wonder if it would work or not.

the stock head unit does not have an aux input - so you have to use something like the PIE adapter (I got mine from www.logjamelectronics.com ). Then you use your 'media' button to select 'DJ' which is the external aux input.

Then you purchase a RCA to mini-stereo cable - so you plug the new aux input (RCA) into the head phone jack of your iPhone. I don;t know if the iPhone uses a mini- or supoer-mini- head phone jack - but you get the idea.

So as long as the noise comes out the headphones - it will play out your stereo.

Check ProClipUSA.com to see if they have any iPhone holders. I just got a mount and iPod Nano holder from them that mounts right over the left vent on the top of the center stack. I posted pics a few threads down.

Was thinking of doing this with my PSP,, would the setup be the same for a 2000??

ok cool. i looked at the mounts. it totals over $60 for the setup but i guess it's worth it.

for the hook up, i guess DJ will only show up in media when the aux is hooked up?
