So I have a bearing grinding type of sound when going above 30MPH on right hand turns. I thought this could be a LH wheel bearing since weight shifts to the LH side around RH curves. I had a new front LH hub put in, noise is still there. Had a new bearing put in the LH rear, noise is still there.

I just ordered a spare RH rear hub and will get a new bearing pressed in and use my good LH front hub and put it on the RH side to see if the noise goes away. What else can this noise be?? Someone help!!

There is no noise going in a straight line.

Searched but found nothing like this, or at least a solution.

Does it make the same noise if you ride the brakes a bit in the corner or does it stop making the noise? It might be a loose pad dragging..

The other complaint I've hear like this was about the rear end. I don't remember the exact details, but search should turn it up.

I will try riding the brake around a turn. How does a pad drag? Ive never heard that before. (amateur) :)

I read the diff noise is more of a straight line noise. Turning left the car is quiet.

It could be loose, installed incorrectly, just the metal backing plate floating in there. I've even seen the pad material break loose from the backing plate and wedge into the bottom of the caliper against the outside diameter of the rotor.

If you have a stuck piston open in a caliper the pad could be flopping back and forth.

I will look at it this week. Im just confused as to why it only happens when turning right or leaning and putting its weight on the LH side

What kind of noise does it make a grindy noise when your doing a turn?

There is a TSB out on 03+ models I believe for a grinding noise in the steering column. The dealer has to replace the whole rack and pinion column. I had to have this done to my LS at approximately 16,000 miles. This might be worth checking out.

I am not sure if this same issue plagues models 2000-2002 or not.

what kinda noise do the 2000-02 models make a grindy noise or something and you can easily tell correct? Isn't a good way to check by jacking the car and wiggle the tires see if it moves or not?

when i brought my 01 in for the ball joint, he jacked it right up and the wheel moved back and forth a couple inches. the front end sounded like a creaky old wooden floor when i would turn the wheel.

After chasing this noise for over a month I finally found it!!!
Since the car would only make the noise on RH turns I assumed it was a LH bearing that was getting more weight put on it. So I looked at the front LH and rear LH hubs about a thousand times along with all the suspension components.

Last night I got fed up and pulled both RH wheels and calipers off. Started to turn the hubs slowly listening for imperfections and found the front RH bearing to be very rough to move and was making a grinding noise just by turning it by hand. It didnt move smoothly, it was kind of notchy. So I had a spare hub on hand and replaced it. Problem solved!
