Hey people I was just wondering if any of you guys put 22's on a lincoln ls... I've seen a few of them on cardomain so I know it can be done. If so please post some pics cause I hope to put some 22's on my ls before the summer is over...So lets see those pics ....Anyone??!!

Their would definately be rubbing and i heard the ride isn't that good either... I will just stick with 20's its the perfect height.

15's with big old Mudders that humm as you drive down the streets. If you do the math you can find a tire combo on the rimz that make the OD the same as 22's, works huh?:p

LOL.

"Twinkies" is the correct street term for 20's. Im not sure if I know the proper street term for 22's and 24's. Im not sure anyone has developed the new terms yet. :-)

Well joke aside, I guess if you find the right sized 22s you can fit em with minimum rubbing. 22x8.5 wheels with 40+ offset and you probably need 235/30/22 to minimize any chances. The ride quality is gonna be bad though.

Im OLD. I remember in the 80s when IROC Z's and Mustang GT's rode on 15's. And THOSE were considered BIG RIMS back in the day. I am almost positive there were NO wheels (for cars) larger than 17 inches until the 90's came along.
LOL.

Well, 22's can fit but you have to make them. IMO they look ugly, 20's look good and thats as far as it should go but in order to make them fit you have to do some rolling on the fenders inside lip, some Falken super low pro's and probably a streatch.

I dont recomend streatching cause you probably are only going to be able to fit a narrow set of wheels to begin with but the rest should work either way with out the streatch.

You know, LSEGUY your still the only one I have heard this nick name from. I have not heard anyone yet call them twinkies. Is there a definition on why they are called twinkies?

Except between the 1890's - 1940's! lol. So really, big wheels are retro! Also, notice how the automobile started small, went big, small again through the 80s, big again through the late nineties and now we are starting to go small again? :)

i'm 100% that they're called twinkies because a person can easily eat 20 of them, lol. i really don't know, but then again you can never really find out where a slang term originated from in the first place. i know 22's are called "dub-deuces", and 24's are simply called "fours". that's the extent that i know of wheel slang but just as i would like to know where "twinkies" came from i would like to know where the rest of slang words came from. i use slang, most people do on a regular basis (some not knowing). it's not a big deal, hip-hop is to blame (not that it's a bad thing). like i said i use slang and i'm educated, sometimes your environment causes these things. go ahead and keep calling them twinkies, ur entitled to say whatever you feel like. call em doughnuts if you want. and btw 22's will fit and there are plenty of people on cardomain that you can talk to that can better help you.

Every one always blames the hip-hop.....lol

But, there was way funnier slang in the 40's than there is now and I don't even want to start with the Jive Talkin Turkeys from the 70's.;)

u can fit 22s with the right off set, but i would go with 20s and lower the car the other 2 inches, its a much better look.

go 20's.... 22's dont look good at all on these cars way too big maybe a 300c or charger not a ls..... But if you want throw some d's on the B****th double d's to be exact:P

lse guy, now thats some funny :q:q:q:q. i didnt even know they had an urban dictionary.

Thanks for the help guys..... I just wanted to fill in that ugly gap that the ls has when you put 20's on it... I think that im going to just lower it and buy a clean set of 20's.. what a freakin headache Im just trying to have a clean ride man thats all, I didn't know that it was so much complication between 20's and "dueces" hahahaha......So now the search for 20's begins!!!! p.s. anyone know about any good online wheel shops????

Where are you at in Jersey?

Unless you find some expensive ass 3 pieces and such its can get tuff finding the right 20" set for this car.
