Has anyone tried to add the sts universal turbo to there LS V8 yet. http://www.ststurbo.com/universal_system It's seems like a great Idea, and I would love to try it, but I would like to know if anyone has done this yet, and if they had any problems with it. It seems like at 5psi boost with this thing the car would get around 300RWHP, and at 7psi it would be around 350RWP if there data sheets are right.

Thanks, Bagge72

This has been discussed alot - I see this is your first post.

One person did implement a rear-mounted turbo - never really got it going ( http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=1319 ), took it off. There have been many, many people talking about turbos, twin turbos - but so far nothing. It's posible but will take a level of $commitment$ and tuning.

Yeah I just joined the other day, wanted to see what other people out there had done to there LS's performance wise. I can't seem to find a whole lot of performance upgrades besides xcal2, exhaust, and intake. Do you know if the Xcal2 lets you reprogram the throttle response, I feel like that alone on the new LS's would make a huge difference. I checked out your car that's a real nice ride, I still have to put some pictures up of mine, though it's not as nearly as nice as your's especially since some kids threw a rock of my trunk the other day.

You should post your times on dragtimes.com there is one really quick LS on there now, another one with some balls would be nice.

yeap - Rocket used to be on this forum, running N2O with a progressive controller. I run N2O for a year - just not what I was looking for in my daily driver.

What year is your LS? The 03+ use throttle-by-wire, pre-03 cable.

It's a 2004 so it does unfortunately use the throttle by wire that's why I was hoping that it could be reprogramed.

Funny you post rocket5979s video and the STS question in the same thread. He's now a dealer for STS along with a dozen other performance manufacturers. He'll be setting up his 05 LS pretty soon as he already has most of the peices collected. Still sprays till then...quite the sleeper, once moving and traction becomes less of a issue it'll run with low-mid 12 sec cars.

He ran 13.3 that day with a decent 60' and some wheel spin as the shot comes in. Very low 13s with some playing around and a better 60' would be no problem. Traction=12s easy or breakage.

Where does Rocket post anymore? I am still waiting to see what his Explorer can do. Did he finish it yet? Sorry for hijacking.

He stopped posting here for a few reasons.

His KBX as we call it is up and running in phase 2. Something to the pace of 15psi and 525-550rwhp I believe. Hes moving to phase 3 quickly which will be heads and cams. I don't believe its been to the track, hes a real busy guy but this fall we will be going to the track some for sure.

There is plenty of room for a turbo right where the catalytic converters are. The piping for the intake would take some creativity to fit. If I had the time/space I think a turbo project on the LS would be fun. But the lack of a garage to work in usually holds back those kind of projects. :p Somebody should do it though.

Go HERE to post # 23 for more information on a turbo/ high hp build for the LS. If you have any questions just contact Jason (02LSE96LSC91SE84TC) and he can put you in contact with me.

BTW, I reccomend that most go with the STS Universal Stage 1 kit as it includes allot of stuff for the great price. The STS Universal Stage 1 kit retails for $1,995 which comes with Garrett turbocharger, turbo accessories, Tial Wastegate, STS oil system, bolt kit, STS brass fitting kit, flanges, and Universal installation manual.
