So I just got my car back from getting some work done and I washed and waxed my car yesterday, got in to go out to dinner and the f'ing airbag light was flashing then eventually it went constant. What the hell is going on and how much is this gonna cost me. Please help i know many people have been talking about this recently. Car is a 00 LS8 w/ 85k

Count the flashes and see if it flashes 3-2 or 3-6 and as you said there has been talk just in the last 10 days, then do a search and you might find your answers.

dude - you need to consider a bike.

there are many, many thread (like 5 in the past two weeks) on the SRS light.

LOL HELL YES YOU NEED A BIKE.

You just sent a long bitch session post (which i know this car deserves,,sometimes)

Few days later you hit pothole and smash your rim, than today your airbag lights on,,lol

Maybe it's time to give in,, if this was kinda car that you fix something than its good for a long time, than you would be cool cause you have basically rebuilt the car,,lol

But we all know that fixed doesnt mean fix for long,,lol

Run man, run fast away from that ride.

Yeah my luck has been :q:q:q:qty. If I could help how :q:q:q:qty st. louis roads are that would be great. If I could fix the f'ing potholes around here my worries would be less. Im not sure but I can recall other people getting hit by other people. Drunk ass people driving like an ass. Like I said I've never cause an accident. And as far as my ex goes well we all know she's f'ing crazy and has her day in court coming up for what shes done to me and my car. Ive been on this forum a long time and have had to deal with some of the dumbest rants and stupidest threads, but the second I rant I get people telling me that all the problems with this car is my fault. I'll start keeping everything to myself as should everyone if all were gonna do is judge and bash people for expressing their opinions and sharing issues theyre having.

I don't think that the bike would help you man, I guess you need a bus pass to be safe....

Anyways, check your buttons on the steering wheel, if they all work fine then it's most likely the connector under the seat. If your buttons are actin up, for instance, you push "-" for the cruise to drop the speed and car speeds up instead, then you need a new clockspring which goes inside the steering column.

Since I bought the car the volume and radio controls have been all messed up. Kinda like you said with the CC but if i push the volume up itll change the song or turn it down.

Whats the price of a clock spring and is it urgent that I fix it.

I've had my airbag light flashing for awhile, sometimes its blinks then stays on, other times the light never even comes on.

I've had zero problems with the steering wheel controls and I haven't seen anything wrong with the cable under the seat.

The car runs great, so I don't think this is a fix that is an emergency, but with your run - you probably don't want any issues with a faulty airbag.

What has kept you from selling the LS and getting another car?

Still haven't done your own search?

And get some cheese to go with that whine.

No I did a search and blow me theres no whine here.

My reason for not getting another car has been due to my accident. I lost my job and went into debt and messed up my credit score. Once this goes to court I will be reimbursed for lost wages (over 9k) and doctor bills and other things I've had to pay off due to it.
You dont realize how lucky you are and how good you have it until something like this happens, a great learning experience.

I've been reading several threads and one questions that hasn't been asked is would it be better to turn off the "easy entry". It seems like the wear and tear is what is causing the connectors and clock spring to go bad. Would this be a good idea.

chill out - no one judging you 0 when you have had as many potholes and curbs jump out in front of your LS you can expect a little ribbing.

if the under seat connector is free - it shouldn't wear - but all it takes is the carpet to bind it up and it will pull on the wires.

Yea man, chill. Everyone can use a good ribbing sometimes.

Anyone else find it interesting how alot of people have the same problem (i.e. airbag light or dccv) at the same time on these forums? I swear anytime I have a problem with my car I can expect 4 or 5 threads to have been created that day about it.

havent read the thread.. just the title of the post.. and airbag light usually - clock spring..
