Hello,

I am new to the site. I have had a 93 cobra for years and love the need for speed. The 93 cobra does not have the business look I was going for so I bought a 2002 Black on black LS. I am looking for advice anyone can give me on where to find performance parts for this vehicle and what is recommended.

Which is the quiter exhaust, magnaflow or borla? Where is the cheapest to purchase. I am also looking at the front grille that is polished and has horizontal bars to replace the stock one. I believe it is $189. Any thoughts? Does anyone know how it fits? I am pretty picky and would like to have a stock like fit.

I have a nitrous kit that came off my old mustang that I can modify to fit the LS. How much of a shot can the ls hold? Will the tranny hold up? Anything you guys can tell me would be much appreciated. Many thanks....

www.LSKoncepts.com, in this website you'll find almost everything that you'll need, from exhaust, to cold air intakes, to dress up items such as grills and ground effects.

Asking exhaust questions is like opening Pandora's box. As far as I know the only system available with any regularity is the Magnaflow. There are plenty of happy magnaflow customers out there. The B&B (Billy Boat I think) and Borla aren't available anymore as far as I know. The other option would be to check out applications that fit the S-Jag or the T-bird.

I made the system (only resonator back) from an S-Jag fit the Lincoln, 'Mina galleries' made mine, Remus also makes a system for the S-type and they are made in Austria. Not sure what's available for the T-bird.....

Intakes are available from assorted manufacturers, I've seen mention of a KKM and I know there's a K&N because that's the one I use and it is fine 'piece of kit' as some would say. It is not listed for the Lincoln, it's made for the T-bird and didn't have any issues installing on the LS. There are likely others too.

I'll let others answer to other performance mods, I only did the intake and exhaust (oh, and I did a Wilwood BBK on the front as well) and there's a lot of other mods out there that many have done. I hope they'll speak to their own experiences.

I did a couple things to my '02 when I had it. DarkMan is right. LSKoncepts is the place to go. Everything listed on my mods - courtesy of LSK.

There was one guy for sure that did nitrous but I'm not sure if he gets on anymore. I think he wrecked his car... - VanDarela?

The LS is an awesome car.

This is the avg. advice you'll get:
Buy It... Try It... Like It, Keep it... Don't like it, Sell It...
:) :) :) :)

QuikLS is you man about the amount of NOS the LS can hold. I think at one time he had a 100 shot.. Send him a PM.. He's a great down to earth guy that will tell you anything you need to know.

Start off small like changing out the airbox w/ a KKM filter, then go to switching out the airbox. The go w/ the exhaust.

Heck, even changing the type of oil you use and the quaility of gas can make a difference.

thanks

thanks for the reply guys. I was reading in tech articles about cutting the stock air box. Is this recomended? Is there any hp difference between this and a intake tube kit?

Yes there is, cuz stock tube has baffles to silence the noise

The 00-02 doesn't have a K&N intake available for it thats the 03up.

That pretty important first off. 00-02 and 03up are not the same.

I have a 02 and I recommend the basic 3 mods, they make the car alot more fun to drive and shave about 1.0-0.8 off your 1/4mile.

Intake. I like my LSK Aluminum Intake with KKM. The KKM is nothing more than a adapter to open filter. But its easy to buy them together and they seem to work well together. Be ready to fab a few little things as the fitment is OK.

Exhaust. The Magna-Flow is good and can be had fairly cheap. Its not loud at all and doesn't cause loud in car noise. It can be made louder by removing the resonators if you find it to quiet. I think the sound fits the LS well. Custom exhaust will work for a little less $$.

Xcal2. Torries tunes work well and he may be able to fix your SST1 if you have a sport model.

Several run 100shot. I thought Quik only did a few times but I could be wrong. VanDarlas car seems to be out of commission but I don't think it was because of the spray...more just letting the wrong people work on your car. rocket5979 doesn't come here no more but shoots 100 regularly I've seen it run.

correct - start with all the basic bolt-ons - they will really wake up the car.

I ran N2O for a year. Fun but not real - IMHO.

The SuperCharger is MUCH better - but a lot more work.

Hey Nick - it's UFC in two weekends at my house!!! Rib weekend......

We can 'test drive' Quik with the new tuning and stuff................. (forget about the stop signs... theyjustholdyouback...)

oh - and all the neighbours will be over - so it will be a FULL house again...

thanks

I am going to purchase or build my own intake tube kit. What company has this kit that provides the most hp? Many thanks....
