My local track opened up for the first time this season. It was a big swap meet, car show, and drag race all day long.

Needless to say it was PACKED, and I only got 2 runs out of the day before I had to run to work.

My first run was against a mid 13's foxbody. My car seemed to be doin alright, and I was not suprised at the time I got. Heres the first run.

R/T: .284
60': 2.295
330: 6.537
1/8: 9.988
mph: 72.03
1000: 12.90
1/4: 15.332
mph: 92.23

Since the track was so crowded I had about an hour cool down time in the staging lanes, so I think that helped out my time some.

The cool thing about this run was I was up against a Black Ford Thunderbird, (the ones with the same chassis as the mark) I began to remember that these things were just a tad bit faster then the mark so it should be an interesting run.

I did my burnout, and got staged. I got on the converter at about 1800, on the 3rd yellow I went. And I heard the dreaded noise of tire screech, Damn I spun.

It was dead even till the 1/8 and then I started pullin on him with a smile from ear to ear I crossed the finish line a bit ahead of him! :) :)

So here are the times. And my best time so far with this car.

Mine:
R/T: .186
60': 2.270
330: 6.371
1/8: 9.702

1/4: 14.895
mph: 94.81

R/T: .032
60': 2.374
330: 6.550
1/8: 9.983

Nice, congrats on getting into the 14's... your car still has more in it with a better launch.

What altitude is your track?

(I am bitter because the density altitude last weekend was near 8000' already.)

a stock 98 mark lsc will walk a sohc bird with simple bolt ons every day, and from his times thats where i put the black bird you raced

I feel your pain... sort of. I ran today in over 2000' DA at a 600' elevation. Sad for March, but every weekend 'til today has been rained out. I can't imagine running at a track out west. So much for 'good air' this spring.

Anyways, back on topic, nice runs. :D I hate it so when the tracks are busy like that and us street cars get 2, maybe 3 runs all freakin' day. :(
