How do I wire this cord to my reverse light?

By browsing through similar threads I've seen people talk about the use of relays but I'm not sure how I'd use one in this situation. I only have this single wire that branches off from the video cable:

I can't use the front of the vehicle as the wire is fixed to the video cable wire. I tried loosely wiring to these connectors:

But the results were inconsistent to say the least. I also tried wiring to whatever these connectors are:

To no avail. What are my options here?

Your camera needs a switched positive (hot in reverse, off otherwise). The LS switches ground instead. You do need a relay.

Reverse bulb+ should be Orange/black (left side) or Orange/green (right side).
Reverse bulb- should be Black/green (left side) or Black/red (right side).
The connection labeled Head Unit is your single red wire.

Awesome diagram. I'll be picking up some relays from Amazon then. What is the line labeled 87A?

87A is the normally closed contact of the relay. There is no need (or use) to connect anything to that in this case.
