So Thursday getting out of my car I noticed the security light flashing after I closes the door. I locked and unlocked the door with the key and it stopped. Went into the store, shopped got in the car and left. I get home and when I went to get out of the car the radio stayed on after the door opened, the two mirror lights stayed on, and the message display stayed on. Opened and closed the door a few times, no change. Open the passenger door and everything shut down. Also power locks didn't work, drivers door key pad didn't work, and auto down window didn't work. Also easy entry, and the reverse mirror drop turned themselves on. Found a blown ten amp fuse in the drivers side fuse panel blown. I replaced the fuse and things were fine for two minutes, then everything happened again because the fuse blew. I replaced it again with a 15 amp because I didn't have another 10. (Wrong amperage, I know.) Things have been fine since I did this. System test told me "drivers door error" when it had the blown fuse.
At that time (Thursday afternoon) fuel gauge read 3/4's tank, and 229 miles until empty. Friday morning I get in, it reads 1/4 tank and 89 miles to empty. Friday leaving work it reads a little over 1/2 tank and 189 mile range. Saturday and today the fuel gauge and range have been consistent.
This morning I get in the car and close the door and the message center tells me the drivers door is ajar. Open and close the door a few times and same thing. I leave and do the system test and it says everything is ok.
Do I have a door switch going bad? Anyone familiar with these missuses able to point me in a right direction?
