I ordered two new Moog wheel hubs for my 2003 LS. Long story short, they sent me one Moog, and one Pro Part in a Moog box, then gave me crap about how they are functionally the same so they don't see a problem. Told them that if they don't see a problem that after being a great customer for years I'll not be buying there anymore. They are sending a shipping label out and refunding the price, but won't send the correct part out. Word of warning, looks like Rock Auto is going down the tubes.

What tipped me off was there was a ground off area on the plastic cover on the back that looked like someone ground off a part number, and it looked like it was shoddily made. The other one I ordered was a MOOG, looks exactly like the one on the MOOG website and on Rock Auto's own site.

That's a shame. I've ordered from Rock Auto for a few years now, sad to hear this.

I had a Raybestos wheel bearing for an 03 Alero that went bad within 3mths.
They invited me to purchase another one ... and once they would receive my return, they would refund me the cost of the replacement ordered.

I was born at night but not last night, shipping a heavy wheel bearing back to the USA would cost me more in the long run,
besides had to quickly source a local part to get the Alero up and running again. I passed on their return/refund offer.

EDIT: 'correction' ~

I originally thought I had purchased Timken's from RockAuto but settled on Raybestos as one of the Timken's was coming from a different warehouse which caused double the shipping. (shipping to Canada cost extra $$$'s of course).

During the checkout, I opted for get 'next best' from same warehouse to consolidate the shipping costs.
Win some, lose some. Still cheaper than obtaining bearings locally.

Bearings should really be bought OE from an OE source ... anything else is waste of time/money.

Dam, I just ordered a bunch of things off there. Haven't opened boxes yet.

That's horrible. They've been really good to me, even for mistakes I've made in ordering.

I've not had problems with them in the past either, but this time when I told them there was an issue they acted like they really didn't care if I was happy or not. I've bought thousands of dollars of stuff from them over the years, but I think my time with them is done.

I might add that when I was looking up what kind of part they actually sent, I found a lot of other forums where people had similar complaints where they ordered one part but got another from Rock Auto. My guess would be that they were started by car people, and are now being run by bean counters. I swear if either of my kids had ever shown signs of beancountery I'd have disowned them and if anyone HERE is a beancounter I'd really rather not know about it. It's one thing to manage costs, quite another to manage costs at the expense of all else.

BigRig, Moog makes great parts, in some cases better than OEM. I'd rather have their tie rods and idler arms than GM parts, for example.

Andrizzle, I hope you have no problems, just make sure to check it all before you break out the tool boxes.
