Well, I tried using the Metra 70-5514 harness but I still did not get any sound from my speakers. So I just wired new rear speakers straight to my headunit harness. It was really a piece of cake.

the harness thing doesn't work. you'll want to rewire the car probably. and get new speakers. 5x7s.

/\/\What he said./\/\ Is your factory amp bad and if so, can you get a picture of it? I have a good one but it's not the premium amp. It's the smaller version out of the 95 I have now. It's been in a drawer full of socks since 2010

I am going to rewire. My system had the crack Snapple pop symptom(s). Being stubborn as a mule after reading all the threads on here which basically come down to the advice to dump the amp I still went ahead and tried an amp from another 8 I pulled at the JY but it didn't work either. The cassette mechanism in the original head unit in my car didn't work either so I tried another head unit also from the Jyard and it didn't work ...enough frustration/fooling around. I am not an audio nut so I just went out and bought me a new cheapo headunit at Wally World and have yet to install it. But soon I will and I'll just rewire. Somewhere here or on the net I found the color coding and wiring diagram for the OEM equip, which is IIRC, different than "standard" color coding of the wires. So I have two OEM radios and two JBL premium amps , if any body wants to tinker with them they are yours!
