Figured I'd make a post about this while I'm waiting for my sons haircut, been curious for awhile.

My "driver side" puddle lamp works fine, however the passenger side doesn't. I took it out maybe two months ago and found that the bulb was blown. I purchased and installed a new bulb, and to my surprise it still didn't work. I don't see any corrosion on or near the contacts/bulb fitting.

I've ignored the issue for a while but every night I'm reminded. I would highly doubt that the driver and passenger side puddle lamps operate on separate fuses. Would it be safe for me to test power to the wires that connect to the puddle light assembly without messing stuff up? How would you guys go about diagnosing this? Thanks and God bless

Yes you can test the wires without doing any damage to the electrical system. If they have no power, remove the door panel and check the harness for connection or corrosion.

hook a meter up and check to see if there is 12v+ on one wire, then check to see if there is a good ground on the other wire

also I'm assuming that thee is no problem adjusting the mirror from the drivers switch...

Sorry for the delayed response, Been busy all day helping wife set up for the wedding. Yes the mirror works fine via the adjustment controller. I will purchase a meter from AutoZone and do a test. Assuming the test fails and I have no power to the wire... I need to remove the door panel and check the harness? Any precautions on taking off the door panel so I dont break any tabs or pieces? Thanks guys

its not too hard, just make sure you remove all of the screws before pulling, and make sure to gently and firmly pull the panel straight out to release the clips all the way around, they do hold very very tight.

here is a video that shows how to pull the panel, its for a 1st gen, second gen is almost exactly the same.

jump to about 2 mins in for panel removal
