Anyone tried an aftermarket replacement antenna for their 1st Gen Mark viii?

Like the title says- I'm looking for a replacement power antenna. Mine is broken and having a hard time finding one.
There's 'aftermarket' ones on ebay- anyone tried one?
Any help is appreciated.

most of the ones i tried from vatozone claim to have fit but they didnt. I just troll junk yards looking for the factory ones off a couple different modems. I need to replace my current one because the tail was broke about an inch short so sometimes it grabs sometimes it doesn. so when it turns off some times the motor just spins till i tap the top of the antenna

Sure haven't. The last antenna I bought was off eBay back in 2007 for the BOB 94 and it went in with ease. The teflon teeth on the old one were gone. I never listen to the radio and I mean never. It seems like someone on here did fill in the antenna hole and went with a Gen 2 back window and used that for their antenna. Can't remember who it was but pics were on here with it. I believe it was around 2010

As for the AZ antennas, I haven't used one but it was mentioned back in the day that they worked but I can't say I have experienced them. I don't even know if the one I have now has been replaced or not. If it ain't broke, I ain't fixing it...
 
Yeap, I've been looking to get one too! I was wondering about the aftermarket units myself. going to go look at a 94 that just came into the yard on the 4th. hoping its there, and good!
