mach I engine swap

Search the site, there is lots of swap info. But really not a ton. Will need exhaust work, fuel rail work, steering shaft work (most likely). Of course a custom tune. Its a lot of little things. But since this swap and other like have been done more than a few times, searching will help you get started.

i have a mach 1 intake 4 sale with injectors and rails 1/2 price than anywhere youll find, pm me well talk a set of aviator heads on your block and your in business, they can be found or i can find for you 250-500 per side. i have all the info u need.

You could use factory exhaust if you wanted with egr modifications.
You will need the correct fly wheel if it was a manual mach 1 (8 bolt) its the engine you want anyways.
I'm guessing you would need to relocate gas and cruise cables.

I hear the 5.4 engines had a taller block height so you may have hood interference problems?

what would you gain with a mach 1 motor over a lincoln one?
yes you would get better internals for power adders and a little better cams. but after that the motors are about the same. with a few bolt on's they can make the same power.
B heads actually flow better than C heads. a early cobra intake flows about the same as the later ones.
i really don't know a lot about motor specs so i am probably wrong. but in my research on them unless you have a mach motor laying around or can get one cheap i don't really see a advantage to the mach motor over a lincoln one.

The mach1's still have crappy rods and pistons. Also the autos have cast crank too.

well the 04 mach 1 is rated at 310/335. compared to the 280/280 for the lincoln. so something changed for the better.

mach 1 has
better intake, easily bolted on lincoln.
different tune, easily done.

the mach probably has a little better cams and better flowing exhaust manifolds and exhaust.
you can bolt on the manifolds and the exhaust to the lincoln.
upgrading the cams would be EXPENSIVE so i would pass on that mod.

i don't mean to sound like the mach 1 motor is junk. it isn't. it's a very good motor.
but dollar for dollar you would be much better off upgrading the lincoln motor with bolt on's than spending the cash and time installing a mach 1 motor.

now if your lincoln motor is dead. installing the mach 1 motor is a good upgrade over the stock lincoln motor.

C head, Lincoln is B head so intake is not a simple bolt on.
C heads give you boost options that B heads don't enjoy.

If your building a engine its worth your time to consider a C head engine.
A good B head engine for a simple D/D swap is getting hard to find.

you are correct that a C head cobra intake will not bolt to B heads.
there are B heads cobra intakes for around the same price as a C head cobra/ mach 1 intake.
yes boost is easily available for C heads. i am in the process of collecting parts for a boosted C head motor for my 97 base mark myself.

all i was trying to point out is bolting in a mach motor isn't the best economic choice to make more power in a mark.
you can add a few bolt on's and make about the same power with a lincoln motor as you can with a mach motor for about 1/2 the cost.
now if your lincoln motor is dead it's worth the look at building a C headed motor to replace it.

thats the whole point. the only intake is the 98 cobra that will bolt on so you need the c heads then you have several options. for some people like me i always had a project working. a swap to gain 30-40 hp is worth it to me anyways. i went aftermarket cams anyways and the extra breath from a good intake is well worth it. still gonna do it even though i got rid of the cams, but gonna go more hp and lopier on the cam it will be just a sssslllllllllooooooowwwww build.
