That looks bad ass!!

What product did you use, if any?

I recently tried the 3M Restoration kit on my 97 and they came out 90% more clear than before. No more yellow or hazy look to the lens, and maybe this is a placebo effect of cleaning the headlight but the light display on the ground seems improved as well. All that remains are some small scratches scattered throughout the lens that I guess you can only notice from up close.

Great job you did!!

I started with 1000 grit and wet sanded the headlights. Then I used 1200, 1500 then 2000 grit to finish it.

After the sanding was compleat I used 3M's heavy duty buffing compound on my buffer and buffed it. After that I used 3M's machine polish, then 2 coats of wax. Be Sure you wax the head lights every time you wax the car.

no you shouldn't have to if you use this:

Because you sand off the uv layer when you sand them

aslong as you wax the headlights every 2-3 months they will be fine.

but yes, the sealer will work as well

also you could clear coat them, did that on my last set of headlights. put on 3 coats of PPG clear and wet sanded the clear and buffed it.

I like the idea of using clear coat on them after wet sanding and buffing, I've thought of doing the same..wax doesn't hold up at all, after a few washes or rains its gone..mine have yellowed a little over the last hear and a half and I have to go back and buff it a bit by hand with 3m rubbing compound..and I wax them at least once every few weeks..so sanding them will speed up the fading process even faster.

Video of the Factory HID's and me talking about my new 98 Trans. and a little bit of fun :steering

Mac, I couldn't tell from the video, but are you getting a wider light coverage compared to
your stock headlight beam?
