Before the debacle where my mother hit a curb and ruined 2 hubs I am now going to try to fix the issue I had been wanting to fix over the holiday break.
So, like I said in my previous thread there was a noise in the front end so I replaced both sway bar end links. After that the right sway bar bracket ripped in half and I replaced it.
However, replacing the sway bar end links did not fix the problem.
The issue is that when I go over a bumpy road on the drivers side there is a constant rattling sound. Sounds like something is loose though when I get under there and feel around (with it off the ground) everything is tight.
I pulled on the top of the tire and didn't feel any play in the upper control arm ball joint. At highway speeds I feel a jumpy feeling from that tire even though I've had them checked for balance/wear which I though would indicate upper control arm problems. Shop I trust says the tire and rim are both good.
The knocking/rattling sound is pretty bad. If I go over the slightest bump I hear it.
What would you guys suspect? I'm figuring it's either the upper or lower control arms as it's been about 60k miles since I changed the upper and about 25k since I changed the lower.
