long tube option?

yea.. i assume one v8 header would be the same price as a 4 cyl header. $650 for the one, and how much the pass side stang header is..

I don't like the look of their prefab setup. Its no where as nice as the "lego" looking way of mocking headers. The lego way looks just like the header you want to build. But there stuff looks nice.

My buddy had a set of LTs made for his 99 Vic b4 stainlessworks came into the picture. They were made painstakingly 3 inches at a time. They looked pieced together but turned out well after some coating. The welds were nice, the price tag....not so much. His car ran a 13.54 with cams/bolt-ons. Not bad for a 276rwhp 2-valve at 4200# Trap speeds for those guys running 13s were always low though at 99-100mph leading me to believe they had better lowend tq but not nearly the topend pull of an NA 4-valve setup. Longtubes would be great for these cars raising the bar a bit over the Kooks.

i just watched their video series. VERY cool. they seem like the kind of people that would walk you through making your own set. if i had the time/equipment/space i would love to try my hand at making a set

im saying have them make the DS header and get a PS from svtp/craigslist/ebay for cheap

Oh. Gotcha. I wish Legend1 would give some feedback. He hasn't been on here for over a month looking at his activity log. He would by far be the cheapest if he made things happen.

yeah no kidding, that would be the easy way out

PBut if I could mock this guy up a plastic header and he sends back the real deal that won't rust like kooks, and has the additional performance gain from longer primary tubes, its worth it to me. Plus I get to say I helped build it :D

My kooks did not have a rust issue. It was the inferior and improper weld used to put the bung in. My welding buddy who I had fix them also agreed to this as a cause of the failure. The hot/cold cycling of the exhaust over time caused a clean break at the weld. This wouldve never happened had 308L filler been used. Plus the headers are 304 stainless which have shown signs of heat like bluing, but I don't recall seeing any rust on them. Driller had the same type of issue which pointed to the weld at the collector. Some shenanigans are taking place at the production line and I'm not happy about that. Not to mention, there was rumor that the work might be getting outsourced and not even taking place at Kooks. This may or may not be true, but if it is that would explain everything.

Still, there were some quality issues there that should never occur given the cost of the product.. this company here seems like they would stand behind their product 100%. Plus I've heard some horror stories about bill at scp

FWIW, I emailed Kooks a little while back concerning another project I had in mind.

They did not have what I was looking for but cordially said if I brought the car to them they would make a set of headers to fit the application. I did not ask the price but basically was led to believe if one would "donor" their car, they would make whatever you wanted.

Driller, I caught a video of your car on a dyno. That thing sounds mean dude

Got a link Driller ?? I looked through many pages on youtube under Mark VIII with no luck.

There's been a couple I didn't get vids of that someone else may be floating out there.

Back on topic, once things are sorted out with the new combo, I would love to get a set of longtubes. If there's any car that needs them, this is one.

Driller did you see these? Art right there and look like they could be altered to fit easy and cheap.
