Are gen one and gen two shocks the same front and back?

I am pretty sure they are but not positive.

Surprised no one has had input but I'm wondering the same thing. I think it's Gen I and Gen II are interchangeable, front to front, rear to rear. The front and rear shocks are not interchangeable. Not saying these are 100% accurate but they are different part numbers and they look different in these diagrams. The fact that the springs are also different leads me to believe the above as well. Hope this helps.

I knew front to back probably won't work but wasn't sure about gen one to gen two front to front and so on

Misread your post. Those should swap from different years only difference being in the sport vs. non-sport shock as you probably already know.

The lower control arms are the same, so the shocks should fit no problem no matter what year.

I know this is an old thread but has anyone tryed this? I want new shocks and found the euro shock was only made for gen1 will they work on gen2? is there something better?

Yes, year (gen) does not matter. All front shocks work with eachother, as well with rear. As far as I know, no one has stock of the Euro shocks anymore...though there could be a few out there still. Are you sure you found the Euro's for sale?

Pretty much the consensus is Motorcraft is the way to go. If you can't get the Euro's, the next best are the sport supsension, which is in between the regular and Euro's as far as stiffness/ride comfort.

Sport shocks came with the sport package, as far as I know. I believe the fastest way to tell is if you have chrome on your bumper. No chrome = sport LS, chrome = non-sport LS. I know this is true for Gen I, not 100% sure for gen II, but I believe it is. Of course, that is if the previous owner did not change out the shocks.

My car had original shocks at 120k and it still didn't ride all that bad.

Im looking on the LSkoncepts page they appear to have the euro shocks, i have not tryed to purchase but it allows me to put in cart. never used this site so I guess untill I buy them im not sure if they really have them

Woops, let me rephrase that. All '06 models are sport models, correct?

I replaced mine at 100k when I lowered my car. I got the new ones from Max and he said the 06s have "special" shocks. Not sure what he meant.

There are two sets of shocks for the '06; the "special" shocks are the non-sport shocks. They came in the same "cold weather" package as the 16" wheels and non-SST shifter.

If you want to know the package number, I'll see if I can figure out where I stashed my window sticker. ;)

My email from Max.

Thank you for the request. I have the*shocks you need in stock ready to ship. The car was built with special susp. 2006 only came with*std and special susp. I also priced the 02-04 sport susp ones.

I ended up getting the sport.
