Inner workings of a gen2 center console

Don't know about you guys but i've always been curious as to what all went into the center console and how certain parts worked. So I took apart a spare I had. Thought some of you guys might enjoy seeing the inner workings as well.

Looks like someone had a little fun. I did the very same thing to a spare Gen 1 center console. Infact, the center console on my '93 has the cup holder/ash tray from a 93, the rest of the console was from a grey 95 & the carpeting I bought black carpet material & glued it to the console.

Just a little I always find pleasure in taking things apart knowing that I won't have to put it back together.

But......

Just got done cleaning the cupholder assembly. Gawd was that thing filthy Everything ended up cleaning up a little to well though, might have to put it back together after all once I replace the one wing. It's in really pretty good shape. Sigh, idfk.

I took the console apart on a 93 I parted out back in 04, but it was already jacked up, so I didn't take as much care in taking it apart as you did on yours. I actually used the cupholder/ashtray piece in my house (it was really more of a party house back then when I was 18, so it worked lol). I also took the back seat of out that car, and, since I couldn't use it or sell it (it had a black stain on the tan leather that wouldn't come out), I set it up as a loveseat type thing. The crazy random stuff you do when you're a teenager...
