Blend door maybe?

My 94 is only blowing air out of the defrost and I tried the original climate unit with the same results.Is the blend door actuator bad if so how to replace it?.

What is the black box next to the blower motor for?. There's nothing plugged into it and that's probably what the two plugs down by the kick panel are for.On the black connector someone cut a green wire and spliced it into another green wire just above it.Why would some one disconnect that box and try to rewire it?. Thanks

nope. sounds like a broken vacuum line. its under the hood up close to the firewall. common issue. the defrost is the safest failure mode.
 
I did reroute the power wire through the rubber grommet on the passenger side so maybe I did break a line I'll go check.Thanks

What's that box for? and I see mine is facing the wrong way as the end with the connector should be pointing down.Saw that in the tech "Intermittant Blower Motor Repair in the Lincoln Mark VIII" and those look like the plugs for it.
 
That's what it was a broken vacuum line.They were fine at the strut tower just came loose from the harness.I must of pulled it because it broke at the engine.Thanks guys but what's that box for?.
 
That black box is your blower motor resistor , it controlls the blower motor speed , low , max hi
Any time your blower motor only works on one speed , that black box is toast .
The jack on the wiring was someone's attempt at bypassing the blower resistor,
Is wire it back like it should be and find that vac leak

ok the blower motor does change speeds so someone probably did bypass it but it must be there for reason.So did they just swap the green wires around to bypass it?. That seems like a lot of wires just for a resistor.
 
I just open the box and the circuit board is marked suspension/steering. part number on the box is F3LF-3B494-DD. From my search it's the suspension control module and maybe the wires are spliced to keep warning message off. So the heating has nothing to do with that box and so no worry's then but does it do any with the steering?.

You must talking about the box below the blower motor as I was referring to the one on the right side of it. All is good now so thanks anyways guys.
 
That looks like the VSS wire I had to cut and tap to install the Rays Switch. The check air ride wire is mounted up above the glove box latch and I think it's brown with a blue stripe.

Oop wrong box , sorry bout that , these cars have a S load of black boxes, ya think ford would have plain English labeled em, naw that be to easy .

upon further investigation, it is the battery power wire for the "air suspension/evo steering module."

i'm sure this time, i have the EVTM open in front of me. 41-4, AIR SUSPENSION. its connector C204, dark green, yellow stripe. in case you're wondering.

Terry, the VSS wire is on the same connector, but is dark green, white stripe.

i was wrong earlier, the check air ride wire, dark green, light green stripe is in connector C205. the grey connector. "warning message feed."

all per 93 EVTM.

Thanks for the info! guess I will reconnect the power wire and remove the correct wire for the "warning message feed." Hook it back up and see if the EVO steering works.Should I leave the air ride switch on or off?

That sounds right. I was thinking about the lamp out module. :rolleyes: Don't know where my mind was.

Will turning it off also turn off the evo steering as well?. Even though I have coil springs shouldn't the compressor run with the switch on?.I believe everything else is still there. Just wondering because if one day I decide to put air springs on it I don't even know if the other parts still work.

if the air ride sensors are unplugged or cut, no.

if one day you put the air ride back in, just turn the switch back on.
