Ok so I'm finally getting another audio system after selling my Rockford Fosgate P3 15s I recently got a RE Audio XXX 15" and a Hifonics BRZ2400.1D but originally i was going to just buy the amp and get the new Alpine SWR-12D4s that now handle 1000 Watts RMS a piece but since i already have the XXX i might as well go big will post pics soon

I know & I got it and the amp for a crazy deal but I'm still wondering how I'm gonna fit it with the space it needs because the LS's trunk isn't the biggest around

Get rid of your stock subs for sure and you should have enough height for the box. As far as depth, that'll be tricky with keeping stock access to the spare. Probably best to custom build a box and modify the floor board unless your fine not having access to the spare without removing box.

O I've been rid of the stock subs they did very well for the while i Had em but after 4 years of listening to those it was time to upgrade I'll be working on the box probably this weekend one of the guys i work with used to install systems for a living so with him around it'll make it alot easier i'll be posting pics of everything i've had in my next post.

I hope you got a pre 2006, XXX - or good luck fitting that in a box and keeping trunk.

My previous systems along with a teaser of the XXX 15"

I would take an RE, DC or Sundown sub over any Rockford any day. That's a good upgrade. I'm sure you'll be fine in fitment. I built a 2.5 cuft box within the parameters of the trunk. That's with the factory subs still installed and access to spare. Removing those would have given me another 3-4" in height. From your prior setup, I don't think it'd be a problem if the box did take over your trunk.

Yea, that is definitely not the 2005 or earlier model...

Are you going to invert it?

That is one big :q:q:q:qing sub! By chance did you buy the amp off ebay and was it the 25th anniversary edition?

Thats a good sub but you can get a 12" sub that wont take over your trunk and hit harder. Also i would stay away from a hifonics amp.

15" subs are better for very large trunks like in an suv.

Beast mode! I was considering the XXX but wouldn't have been able to afford the amp I wanted to feed it.

I have to agree with what Black said, putting that much into an LS is just overkill for a dd.

I wanted to just buy the amp @ 1st but the guy had it listed for an already crazy price of $750 for the amp and sub in box but I talked him down to $500 for both and yeah I pretty much know I won't be able to access the spare but I'm cool with that I'm not planning on inverting it just yet I'm going to take measurements tonight 2 see exactly how I can make it work

I have two 12's in the trunk and when I crank up the volume it shakes the car uncontrollably, to the point where I've had several people (inside and outside the car) ask me to turn it down. I can only imagine how crazy two 15's would be.

You can sell it on ebay and make a profit and get a better fitting combo with a higher quality amp.

You might be able to make it fit but it might not sound good...the trunk just doesnt have the proper space.

Cone area is important but so is rms watts and there are some pretty weak 15's out there. This is not one of those just saying.

Sorry it's been so long guys been busy lately. the sub box build is in progress but i just couldn't wait to hear this monster Sub inside the LS so i installed it with the box it originally came in and put it in the backseat(ghetto i know and not proud of it) but it's CRAZY loud will post video and details soon!

I have the xxx 12" and it's MORE than enough for me lol. Good luck pushing that 15 to the max. My 12 takes about 1800 rms all day everyday

Selling the RE XXX 15" it's wayyyyy too much for me for a DD lol any takers???

Did you ever get the box in there? i have a 15 here at home, im intented to try and sell to pick up a good 12, but maybe ill just throw the 15 in there for now.

Yes but no I put it in the backseat with box it originally came with when I bought it because @ the time I couldn't wait 2 have another box built
