Well, Ol' Abe is in the shop again.

Upstairs Chris, you're a West Virginia state cop? My uncle was too, many years ago. He retired from the job I dunno, 15-20 years ago or so. At least I think he retired, I don't know much about my dad's side of the family.

I doubt it ... same thing !

5-6 hours rest is not nearly enough to go back on duty and operate any motor vehicle, regardless of profession.

NY for instance, 12 hour on duty rule applies,

12.6 Troopers shall not be scheduled to work in excess of 12 hours in one tour of duty.

and a little further down it reads,

... will not be recalled to duty less than 10 hours after the end of their last tour of duty.

Indiana says an officer can work a 16 hour shift and come back in 8 hours, so NY is very kind to their troopers.

Back on topic
That warranty will work out nice having the majority of your cooling system replaced for the price of a degas bottle.

Back on topic for the win.

I was thinking the same thing. Does it suck, yeah, driving this HHR is like jacking off with razorblades. However having multiple things replaced for practically the same price as a Degas bottle will be nice. Funny thing with warranty's, it actually has to break first lol.

My insurance is paying my towbill too. So overall a win I suppose.

Topic: Good to see the warranty work in your favor.

Off Topic: A bar graph might be a better representation of fapping. Did someone mention pizza making? I've done that off an all nighter working an 60-80qt Hobart mixer without injury.

Hobart mixers will rip your arm off.

I worked at a pizza place for 3 years. Greek mom and pop type place. Their sons ran it. We all partied hard, then worked all day, rinse and repeat. Pizza restaurants are not injury-prone environments.

Yes 5-6 hours of sleep a night, not off duty time ....

Tiny Brain !!! ... that's what I said, scroll up and read !!!

side tracking to improve the argument ... KUDOS !!!

Ofcourse it was directed at the amount of sleep people get and need
in order to function correctly.

regardless of profession !!!

However, everyone here on LVC knows better as always,
and I laugh at the fact how the most important part it over looked just to try and put me in my place.

A chronic sleep-restricted state can cause fatigue, daytime sleepiness, clumsiness.
not to mention it adversely affects the brain and cognitive function.

... than you're :q:q:q:qing high.

That's it ... I must be on drugs trying to win this debate!
Pointing out the obvious ... as in, it's not safe in any profession,
to return to work with that little sleep all week long.

You're all correct, I'm a retard, must be high and smell like a Socialist, trying
to make a point of expressing concerns on one of the leading causes of work
Place related injuries.

Some so fatal that a school bus driver, in the morning fell asleep behind the wheel and rear-ended another school bus sending 12 high-school kids to hospital.

... I am sure you have probably never even been in this state

Yeah, I f*cking levitate upwards of 80,000lbs of tractor and trailer over your state to get to the others directly below.

or ... wait, all this time, I've been going out of route and detour all of Virginia State to get to NC, SC or Georgia.

Give me a break Officer !!!

... before you went out of your way to bash my career.

Oh yes, I was BASHING your career ?
.... PLEASE !!! you read as good as others here !!!

Put the handcuffs on me LVC'ers ... that's what I was doing!

Secondly, if a State Trooper pulls you over
... I then sure as f*ck hope he's had enough sleep before coming back on duty, overworked & underpaid, messing with my income!

Never do I use the computer while driving, that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. 90% of the time my computer is at the office anyway...

odd, I look down into cruisers and see a lot keyboard action going on running license plates while in traffic.

Very possible it's not like that all over. Technology does take a while to get around.

... and dated a life guard, ... always got 8 hours sleep bro, everyday......

Sure, roll your eyes with the icon, it was an example but like others, you didn't get it either.

Is it the safest thing?

Pretty sure, I already made myself clear that it is not, but again,
that part was not clearly understood by the masses, it was more fun,
to get me off my Soap Box and hope I would go away to a place that
gave a sh*t about anything so obviously important, that lifes could be
lost if not given the respect and attention this sleep-deprived nation(s)
of ours needs.

... wait, don't think I got that right but doesn't matter cuz, it's not going
to be interpreted correctly anyhow. something else will be made up instead
along with a fancy little pie chart. Giggle, Giggle, Giggle ... that's so fun!

Perhaps do me one of those sensitive Canadian Beacon pies and we'll call it a "private enterprise system" ???

(that's what you took away from this session? how foolish!)

Listen, ...

No, you listen .... and try and get this UPSTAIRS CHRIS !!!

IT'S NOT F*CKING SAFE going back on duty WITH THAT LITTLE SLEEP PER NIGHT. (no matter what the profession) ... and no pie chart is going to change that !

Whenever you make the Accident Investigation team and you and your TROOPERS buddies figure out that it was a sleep-deprived young punk, who partied all night, while making a Pizza delivery run, killed your entire family in a head on collision ... can you THEN do me a favor and EXPLAIN it to the rest of them here ?

... Sometimes I work for free because I ran out of ...

yeah, well I'm sorry about your first year just under 40K anual salary,
perhaps you should look into trucking for a living and make twice that.
it's got it's perks too ... it includes mandatory 10hrs off duty before
returning to the roadways. no f*cking around there Mr. TROOPER !!!
only allowed one (regulated) log book, and you'd really only want just
the one, cuz driving 11-13hrs per day around all your families is bad enough!

~ but I could increase that for you if you don't think this off-duty getting some rest and sleep is real business!

I am not going to check your logbooks ...

You wouldn't know what your looking at anyhow, you're so f*cking sleep-deprived whilst on duty.

PS: I have made pizzas on less than 8 hours of sleep ...

Enough with the fruits and Pizza's already !
it was a shady attempt of an example that failed to deliver it's point of importance.

The kids threw a pie chart at it already because it was more fun then actually clearly understanding the dangers surrounding fatigue at the workplaces.

Lastly, I thank myself for living where I do, I can only now see how not all places on earth have laws with respect to safety at the workplace.

... and yes, we do, we do have regulations and limitations on the amount
of hours employers are allowed to force employees to work, per day and per week.

Ofcourse there are "exemptions" to the rule.

BOTTOM LINE is ... I do care about gettting enough sleep before returning
to work. some don't get it or simply are ignorant to thier own believes.

Probably is more important in my field then any. (Ok, not 100% true but important nonetheless, try driving all day every day)

... and, honestly ... hope your coolant problem works out for you, wouldn't want you to loose any further sleep over it.

side tracking to improve the argument ... KUDOS !!!

Your the one who derailed this thread to clearly knock the guy for his profession. He was smart enough not to continue with this moronic conversation.

Honestly, we could go back and forth as you can continue to sound like an idiot trying to argue YOUR opinion on this. but someone as clearly intelligent as you, must see its not going to get you anywhere other than further disdain from this community... But i know, I know, you could care less what we think about you, and YOUR opinion is we a bunch of punk kids chastising you for who you are and where you live....

But far as i can tell, your the one getting your rocks of trolling around here, pushing your opinions on everyone else...Perhaps (for everyones sake) you can agree to the old saying, nothing nice to say, dont say anything at all....

I know, who am I to tell you what to do.... and why should you listen to me blah, blah, blah.... But you would think, someone with as much wisdom as yourself, would know how pointless this interweb argument is and would be the bigger man about it.

We understand your point Big Rig.

People shouldn't be tired on the job. It is unsafe.

It is the way you argued the point that brought you so many barriers.

And due to schedules it is sometimes not possible to be "fully rested". It is very naive to tell someone that they are responsible to get quality sleep. Like sleep is controllable!! I would love nothing more than to dictate my sleep pattern/cycle. I would never be tired!

Oh I know they can but with all the safety precautions they have Helen Keller herself couldn't hurt herself with it. The bigger risk we had was slipping on the floor after mopping. We only made the dough so it wasn't really a pizzeria environment like it would sound like.

See if I can sidetrack this any more than I already am. Our pizza dough, Tiseo's Frozen Pizza Dough

There ya go, just slice it, implant, stitch back up and like a chia pet, watch it grow!

Hey Big Rig do you know anyone in the military?

Those guys are CONSTANTLY sleep deprived and face life and death situations on a daily basis. Army only requires four hours of rest and you can get right back to route clearance/dismounted patrols or whatever the mission dictates.

In a perfect world everyone would sleep 8 hours a day but it just doesnt happen. I respect Law Enforcement much more than other occupations including truckers. Lots of them are just straight :q:q:q:q:q:q:qs and think they own the road because they have a larger vehicle. Not saying all officers are perfect, lots of them are :q:q:q:qbags but overall it takes more knowledge to be an officer.

And before you get smart with me....Ive driven large rigs with airbrakes and theres really not much to it.

I know. I'm in the Army.
