Are there inner and outer pads? I haven't done this in a while. Both pads look the same. Also what grease do you use on the caliper / rotor slide bolts? Is there some kind of special like silicone or bearing grease?

Yes there are inner/outer pads. I wont even make fun of you for that question although I should. At my shop we use Molly Lube for the pins.

Make sure to install the pads on the correct side of the car.

For our cars the pads are the same, doesn't matter which one you use for inner or outter

This is not the case for brake pads with a thickness warning indicator (squeel tab)

Laser- feel like gettin your ass kicked some today?

My last Mark had squeel tabs.

Wait, nevermind. Forgot it had Cobra calipers.

You misspelled "licked" again.

Don't care. Bring burgers. And smokes.
I am just going over this material safety data sheet to make sure I am as safe as I can be. :)

Not all dielectric greases are the same and don't have the same lubrication qualities

Ok going to O'reillys and get rotors turned. Get Caliper grease there. I assume no matter what the rotors should be turned? Brakes may have had 10 to 20% left. Other than a light coat of rust, they look fine but who knows there could be some warp. All rubbers look okay but should I put new ones on anyway? Oh and the clip in the top center of caliper looks okay I have no idea what funtion it performs? Is ther any reason to replace them?

If the anti rattle clips are fine and the dust boots are fine there is no need to buy new ones. Thats how Just Brakes makes all their money.

Make sure Oreillys has a good bit on their machine. Just had my Jag rotors turned there and just averted disaster cause the manager noticed on the first pass that the bit was dull.

Thanks for the tip. $15 each rotor right?

I almost forgot do I need to put on the back of the pads the anti squeal paste? Looks like the backs of the pads are open to the air?

I have yet to ever use that paste and have yet to hear someone complain. Now I make sure the hardware is still good and I try to get them to buy ceramic pads so that has a lot to do with it. Metallic pads make noise and dust. I prefer spending a couple extra bucks so the wheels stay clean and I dont hear squeels.

I stand corrected. All done now. No more raspy sound when the wheels are off the ground and turned round. It souned like metal on metal, but it wasn't. Drivers side had about 1/16 inch left on the groove cut in to the pad. I haven't driven it yet because its so hot now and I have to put the door panel back together and put it back on plus bolt the seat back in place. Oh I also got the fuel filter changed out.
