yup. came home today and saw the wife with the water hose dousing the engine. got out of the
car, and was like.. wtf are you doing splashing cold water on a hot engine. she just said it
overheated and was trying to cool it off. anyway... got it in the garage and starting taking the bits
off to check around the water pump. looks like the tstat housing has been leaking, and i think the
stat went bad. she said it overheated, but wasn't making the boiling over sound, and no fluid was
blowing out anywhere. so.. going to do the bottle, tstat and housing, the little crossover hose, and
the rest of what i can get to, along with all new tensioners / pulleys and belt. 1st time to dive into
ye ole ls this far, but it should be fairly straight forward. have to order the water pump with the
steel impeller from the bay. the xover pipe is already fairly new, so that piece will stay.
this is as far as i got tonight. had to put front brakes on the gto, so that took me an hour. i'll add
pics as i get to the parts through the rest of the week.
