I have what looks like oil leaking down through my front bumper cover on the passenger's side. I know it's not oil unless someone knows something I don't. I'm guessing it has something to do with the hydraulic cooling fan? If so I'm going electric but any ideas???

Sounds like you have a 1st gen LS, it would help if you told us year and cylinder count. Can you tell what kind of oil, motor or transmission?

the oil cooler lines are there for the tranny. The fan is a little farther back but I guess it could be it.

She's an 01 LS V8 Sport. Checked my oil filter, it's on as tight as it's going to get but I don't see how that would put oil on my front bumper? It's black like motor oil, it doesn't appear red to me at all but how would motor oil get there? I have everything off down to the impact bar and still can't see anything that would be the source.

Started the engine.... can't find any leaks. It was on the inside of the bumper on the bar and absorber. I had the car on ramps looking at the exhaust and noticed it. The only thing I've noticed is that since I have had the car on the ramps when I turn it off I can hear what sounds like fluid running out onto the ground but there's no fluid anywhere

I had this same problem and it was a slight tear or hole in the tranny cooler line. The oil appeared black b/c of the road grim that it mixed with. Place a clean piece of card board under the front and see if you get some drips.

By the way, the line did not leak all the time, just when the hose opened up the hole. Hope this helps
