wtf is this? dyed? painted?

Question should be more like: "WTF, 400 bux for a REFURB??"

Agreed

I did this to my old Arnotts, turned out to be a huge waste of time.

So, they are selling a "USED" air strut, that was painted/refinished. The bid starts at $299.99, with a buy it now price of $400.00. Are they smoking crack? No where in the product description, does it say a new shock or airbag was installed. This is pure price gouging.

Dear xvega24,

What kind of special paint is used to make this product retail in crack head price range. Its not new so im curious where you get off thinking this is acceptable. is that a one of a kind snot green neon fantasy land paint? please help me justify the obserd starting price and or that outrageously crack headed bath salt buy it now price. Oh air struts fit 93-98. Of course if ya knew that then youd know the real value of that air struts. I look forward to your justifications. thanks. Trip

Sent him a message:

"Dear xvega24,

Are you serious? How can you possibly justify that price? I can get a brand spankin' new Motorcraft air SHOCK (it's not a friggin' McPherson strut!) for less than $300 on Amazon! Does this one have a new shock? Does it have a new air spring? What's been done other than cleaning and painting? How was it "remanufactured"? And if you knew anything about Mark VIII's, you'd know this is the 2nd generation air SHOCK from the '97-'98 model but will fit all Mark VIII's from '93-'98. I've got a pretty good feeling you will never sell these in a million years at that price. They may be worth $50 bucks each since there's no way to know what condition the hydraulics are in or if the air spring has any dryrot cracks due to age. Have a nice day."

His response:

"Dear mr-spock1973,

I don't ship to Iraq anyway. Move on.

Ooooookaaaayyy:confused: This guy's waaaaaaay out in left field somewhere.

How in the **** do you "sterilize" an air bag?

This is the rear OEM air suspension bag for a 1993-98 Lincoln Mark VIII. It has been sterilized, refinished, painted and tested and it is guaranteed to be in 100% working order. The bag has only a little wear (creases), see pictures. This part can go on either side of the car. Other parts are available, see other auctions. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Thank you.
The ones shown are green, but they can be painted any color you want.

Are Mark VIIIs popular in Iraq?
Yeah, I'd say this guy needs to seek professional help. I'd personally like to point him towards a good doctor, and then kick him in the azz to get him started in that direction.
Hey, write him back and tell him he owes ya 200 in medical fees cos his sister gave ya the herp.

Come on guys - those bags are JAM UP! How many green ones do you see??? And did you see that rating of A- ?!?!

Where is my Paypal! ;)

Favorite part:

"This bag is an original and barely shows any signs of wear. It is nearly flawless (see pictures, the marks are hardly even visible with the naked eye)"

That's because the picutre is so grainy you can't see the dryrot cracks when you zoom in. At least he cut the price in half this time.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread, but I find it fascinating that somebody actually BID on this junk!!!

These are pretty decently priced, but you can SEE the dryrot cracks in the picture:eek:

i've seen a lot of dry rotted ones sell for too much $ lately, there are a couple nice ones on there right now. but some look like hell, didnt see the green ones sell at all, unless i missed it.
