As title says, I'm looking for a trac-lok unit for my '97 Mark VIII. I have heard the IRS one is different then a standard 8.8 unit, correct? I'm looking for a used unit, as cheaper is all ways better. Thanks.

Only difference is the side spider gears. They are chamfered to allow the circlip to be squeezed as you pull the halfshaft out. Some say that this isn't a necessity, as the axles will pop out anyway, others say just remove the circlip. The axles aren't going to fall out once everything is in the car. I had my mustang trac lok gears chamfered by a guy with a lathe before I installed it in my Mark. Just in case.

OK, I might be working a deal on one here local, if I don't snag it I'll more then likely take yours. I'll let you know. Thanks.
