Would this be worth buying and fixing?

Ok I came across this '01 sport with almost 200K on the clock. They are asking $1900 and it needs some front end stuff. My question is, would it really be worth buying and putting money into with that many miles and not knowing any of the history of the car? Heres the pics, I think it may only need the bumper, hood grille, and lights.

Try offering a grand. If you've really checked it over, and feel like doing the necessary work. You can always go up somewhat as you dicker.

Offer them $1500 cash and then part it out on here. I know I would want the SST shifter, center console, and center A/C vents/message center buttons. I know some others would love parts. Sell the transmission, engine, and misc parts will prolly make you a profit. Then when your done, sell it for scrap metal. Money coming from everywhere.

Nope. Too much headache and cost to fix, and a better than even chance of on breaking even on parting it out.

1900 is too high IMO. I paid 2800 for mine in great shape, minus some engine work.

I need that trunk lid. :shifty:

Well I think that I will pass on this one. Seems like it will end up being more hassle than it is worth. My next conundrum is do I get an '02 LSE with just about 50K on it for around $7k or do I get an 06 with higher mileage of r a little bit more than that? Decisions decisions...

Really? Even though the '02 has lower miles? Mind if I ask why? Or is it just because more of the bugs should be worked out for that year?

Idk I personally have a Gen1 LSE and honestly it really hasn't given me many problems. Replaced the normal VCGs, coils, sway bar bushings, and re-charged the a/c. I love my LSE to death but I'd still take a Gen2 LSE or 06 under 75k any day. The gen2s are just newer and honestly the 500 things they updated is well worth it.
