P2107 and P2110 which involve the throttle activation..

Trouble code P2107 means: Throttle Actuator Control Module Processor

Trouble code P2110 means: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Processor

Any info? Maybe a loose connection?
 
Alright well I cleared the code and everything seemed to be fine, jumped on the highway yesterday and took her to about 90mph at WOT and she went right into ETC Limp Mode. Nothing seemed wrong at all, the car was acting fine but as soon as I hit 90 or so mph it was like hitting a wall :confused: Tried it again after I shut her down and started back up and she threw the codes out again. Any input?
 
It's probably either the #4 coil or the throttle body.
 
I have a P2104 and P2112 as well now. Im gonna go with the throttle body?
 
you did switch coils 1 and 4 just to make sure that the computer wasn't getting interference making it think that a different problem was present. this was the case with my problem.

That's the cars way of saying slow the F down.
I would rather have a coil going bad as opposed to having the throttle body going bad!!

I'm going to say throttlebody. Do you have an '03? I had an '03 and went through this several times before the TB was replaced. There wasn't a ryhme or reason to it doing it that I could tell. Mechanic said it was running hot, would overheat and have a "blip" or something which resulted in ETC failsafe.

Just in case it is not clear...

Coil failures (particularly # 4) have been known to cause P2104 and P2112 codes. A coil is about $50 and a throttle body about $400. Guess which I'd try first.

Id like to take this time to yet again apologize for that one time when I doubted you and acted like a *dick*. Which coil is the number 4 coil tho? I dont know the firing order or anything.
 
#4 is the back right (passenger) side of the engine (V8).
#3 is the back right (passenger) side of the engine (V6).
(If you have a V6, then the #3 coil is the better suspect.)

I know of some 03 throttle bodies that have failed, but the late 04 and up seem to be okay.

[I assume we are talking about an 05 V8?]

yes, just switch the pass side front and back coils with each other, if the coil was the cause (as it was with my 03) then the ETC failure messages will go away but the slight miss or hesitation will remain, then just replace the coil that was in cylinder 4 (now in cylinder 1) with a new one and call it a day
 
Its not a coil(un-plugged them one by one and heard the engine start missing like crazy), Im pretty sure its a vacuum leak altho I have yet to pinpoint it, I can hear a slight whistle around the EGR area and when I looked one of the throttle body adapter/neck bolts was backed all the way out, tightened it down but didnt solve anything. Im gonna take it all apart tomorrow and check surfaces ect then put it back together, it seems as if thats exactly where its coming from. When I get on it it sputters something fierce up until about 4K, no codes or check engine light.

the coil might not be completely dead, just not running at 100%, so just sitting there the car might run fine, until you go out and get on it and they its performance (or lack there of) starts to show.

just trying to throw out a few ideals for ya.

Yes, marginal coils can be very hard to detect. I would swap the #1 and #4 and just leave them that way. If after a few weeks you find that the throttle body code aren't coming back up, then you will know it was the coil. At that point, replace the #4 (now in the #1 position) coil.

If you are having noticeable missing, then I would go ahead are replace all eight coils. It's hard to find which one(s) are bad, and even if you do the rest may fail one by one soon anyway.

Well I replaced the #4 and it started to miss even worse after I did that while driving, thats when I started to unplug them one by one. I cant replace them all until Thursday(payday)

Why is it that on my 2000 Mazda Ranger I can get a code to tell me exactly which cylinder is misfiring but on my 2005 Lincoln LS I just get a broad statement? lol
