Howdy,

Well now that I've moved its time for maintenance. Oil and filter I have covered and I'm not quite to tranny fluid change time. What I really need is new wiperblades ad mine have gaps in thier coverage and they chatter. Anyone have any prefference or recomendation as I've never owned a car with staggered size blades before?

Thanks,

Motorcraft blades are the only blades I use. Lincoln gives them to me for my LS, if you don't have a hook up they are usually $19.99 installed for both.

After 7 years with the LS, I've concluded that the Motorcraft blades work very well. Others may have different opinions, but I think you can't go wrong with the Motorcraft blades.

One suggestion at your stage is to clean your windshield really well in conjunction with replacing your blades. You should consider getting a clay bar and claying the windshield. It only takes a few minutes and removes a lot of crud from the glass. I ususally do it before I wash the car, so the wash can clean away any of the lubricant. Another option is ceramic stovetop cleaner or bon ami.

I just got new ones on mine, of course the place I was at didn't have a matching set so I have a Rain-X on the pass side and a cheaper one on the driver's. Only used them a couple times and they both seem ok, not much different than the motorcraft ones that were on there.

I would normally say Motorcraft blades, but I have switched to a silicone base blade (Bosch) and they have held up better and longer then OEM with no chatter or streaking. OEM here in NV heat just don’t last but one year at most. The silicone base blades have lasted 3 years.

I have some of the Bosch ones that they sell in pep boys, kind of expensive though, workin great.

Got new blades for mine when I got the car. I usually get just the cheapies, but decided to splurge on some Bosch blades for the LS. Waste of friggin money. In 3 months they were starting to show wear lines on the glass when it was raining. Now another month later they are getting to the point where they dont clear half the windsheild. I picked up a set of Trico Neoform blades at the parts store today. Ill have to see how they do.

The Motorcraft seem to be good quality, but they say MOTORCRAFT on the wiper in white print so you can see it while you're driving. If you're nitpicky like me you may find that just a little annoying sometimes.
