I have been pulled over 3 times with it tinted and they never said anything. But it depends on the location and what you were doing etc... A lot of parameters.
They cut around the mirror assembly. Haven't you ever seen someone tint a vehicle? They lay the film on the outside, and use light from inside to cut the film to fit exactly. Then they just squeegee it on. If you can get good @ it, you make tons of $_$.
It is 30%
dNyce also has his tinted with me and Alax... Not sure of others.
ive attempted to tint mine multiple times. I figured i was good at tinting since i did the rest of my car but i had big troubles getting the fingers to come off at the bottom of the windshield....had a heat gun and everything...i guess i just dont have enough patience for it...
there is a really good comparison that someone did on here and it doesn't look like it hinders your vision at night by much, as long as you keep it around the 30-35% level
I've had these windows tinted for over a year now. Everything except the windshield is 3% tint, the windshield I was nervous about going darker so I went with 40% on the windshield. Still a huge difference.
The biggest benefit comes at night. Oncoming head lights are not nearly as blinding as they once were. The visibility isn't noticeably decreased through the windshield. Out the sides with out headlights, lets just say that I take corners extremely slow through town. During the day you will notice a difference but not as much as what I experience at night.
If you are worried about getting pulled over it just depends on how you are driving and what else is done to the car. I've had this for a year, been pulled over once for a tinted license plate cover, didn't mention anything about the windows. If you see a cop, roll em down if you're nervous, if the weather is right. If not then hold your breath and breathe a big sigh of relief when he doesn't whip behind you. Last statement, if you get only your windshield done, which I assume you are not, then you will have no problem. This is much longer than it needs to be, sorry.
Andrizzles or my own? Just wondering because I would like to snatch the headlights out of his.
Also, I forgot to add. Do a little research into tint. If you don't want your windows turning purple or blue down the road get a film that isn't dyed (assume cheap stuff from autozone) . The place I go to uses 3m and solargard window film. It uses carbon or something so it won't turn colors on you and it won't affect your radar detector if you have one. If the film is metallic in anyway it will greatly affect your radar detector, if you have one.
