I wanted to get my front windows tinted but have no idea what I can get away with in Mi. I was thinking just getting 35% and I should be fine. Anyone have any experience with this?

any tint on the front 2 windows are illegal. usually only state boys mess with you. Back of mine is 5 and the front 2 are 20% been pulled over 12 times. Taken it off twice and put it back on darker each time. After they figured out i wasnt running drugs or killing people they left me alone. So the choice is yours.

I'm always polite when i get pulled over, roll all 4 windows down for them, I know my tint makes them nervous as hell. If they want me to take it off, i say no problem, I know its illegal and i know i'm gonna put it back on after the ticket is signed and in the mail
my driving record is clean 15 years back, so i don't get much hassle. The 2 times i had to take it off (you get no ticket if you pull it and have a officer sign your ticket) it was the same young kid. Third time he pulled me over I asked him if he was stalking me, he let me go that time and hasn't pulled me over again.
Long as you don't do drugs, or speed alot its worth the couple of stops you will get. On a side note I have never been pulled over at night, my sister husband who is a cop said he wouldn't pull my lincoln over at night either. Also in the other house i was at we had a string of car break in's, they hit both houses on the side's of me and never touched my car. Something about a blacked out lincoln scares people.

I haven't had any problems either.. got limo in the back and 20 on both passenger and driver.. got pulled over by a sheriff just last week they didnt say a thing about my window tint. But like Ground said anything in the front too is illegal. Honestly I would just tint your windows they REALLY dont bug ya unless your speed like hell or act really flakie like you got somethin when they pull you over. But dont blame Soopa009 if you get a ticket!! just take the tint off and go to the place and show them you removed the tint and you get it written off (the ticket).

Like they said, tinting the front ones is illegal but we all do it. The worst thing that happens is you have to take them off but we all put them back on right after its cleared. Most wont pull you over and for me its actually saved me. I was "speeding" going 72 when everyone else was gong 80 and the highway patroil pulls me over. Told me I was speeding but since my record was clean he would just give write me up for my windows and forget the speeding ticket. It's happened to me twice, its like they have to write you up for something even if they pull you over and will just do the tint write up since its only a fix it and wont give you a bad one that goes on your record. Tint it. I got pulled over 5 months after i put my tint on and plus the 2 months you have to fix it, I drove for almost 7 months with tint until I got them off right before the deadline.

both, tux and LBD have 5% all the way around, (except front), I get pulled over all the time....all the time, sometimes by the same goofy cops....

2 - go to eye Dr and have him write you a letter to keep in your car stating you have sensitive eyes (chart says MI allows medical reasons for dark tint)
Good luck - and like alax7 said - sometimes if your speeding the cop will give you a tint ticket and tell you to slow down, but if you whip out your Dr's excuse and the state law tint chart - your getting the speeding ticket for sure, so first see what he is gonna do.

Oh and the tint guy will hate doing the back window, mine had to do it twice. Also get the quality tint, it is a denser black then the cheap stuff.

EEEEK!!!! I wouldn't want that! but if they put it back ok, then all is good. Neither of mine had to be pulled out.
