I've pulled windshields before using piano wire but I was wondering if that is the best method for the back glass?

This is the best I've seen for pulling glass. Price of the saw is outrageous but a blade can be had for $35. Haven't tried one to see if it would fit in a normal sawzall.

Ok to add to this...what would be the best way to remove a rear window from a junkyard car that had a good ripple free seal? Obviously without damaging the seal..it would be nice to just take a sawzall to sheetmetal around it and safely remove the glue and sheetmetal once you have it home..but I would think it might be a pain to cut through some of that sheetmetal near the c post and around the bottom of the glass since there's several layers of metal there.

The car in question is in a garage and I just want to get the good window out now and get it in my car at a latter date.

use a long SHARP blade knife. I used a brand new linoleum knife because it had a nice handle. Just slide the blade under the trim flap and push in.
Make sure you disconnect the defroster/antenna wires
Once you get a blade thru, then you could feed a piano wire saw in the slit you've made, but I used the knife for all of it, takes about 15-20 mins and I'm no window professional

That tool you use inside the cat, spray it with a little soapy water. No damage to the seal outside.
