Will a set of rims from a 96 mark viii fit my 88 mark vii ?

So the engine in the mark is waiting for a rebuild and my 88 is running well but is in need of tires. I'm a little short on cash this month and with snow starting soon just wanna make sure the tires were good can i swap the rims between the 2 cars at least until i get another motor please let me know thanks
