Anyone using the Innovate LC-1 wideband that comes with their computer datalogging software? Is it a good wideband or are there better out there?

I'm using that wideband. Mine is currently not working right. Talked to tech support and it sounds like the computer box is bad. I would have to think a better product is out there.

for an entry level product its OK...
I would not suggest it for a dependable WB solution.

much like sniper, cheaper isnt always THE way to go

Sean, what exactly is not working right? I got my nitrous tune checked by a tuner with Commando and my commanded A/F ratio on the wet nitrous tune is 13.1 A/F what were you seeing at WOT on the nitrous tune? Also, I got a new base tune with the IMRC's and EGR turned off, lemme know if you need it...

Hey Serge I'll try the new base tune. Did it get any power on the dyno. I had the WB working fine for a while then it started to freeze after a while turned on. Then it stopped working all together, it flashes 7.4 or 22.4. Spoke with the tech and had no luck with them. They want the box sent back to them to look at but thats going to be alot of unwiring and lifting the car back up. Not what I was looking forward to. You still have my email.

I did a TON of research and heard WAY WAY WAY more bad than good...

I'd get the NGK AFX, it's made for NGK by the people who make the AFR1000.... it's the best entry level WBO2 from what I've found...

I looked it up and it doesn't come with a standard gauge that the Innovate comes with. I'm getting an A-pillar with 3 gauge pods, I need a wideband with a standard read out gauge...

So you would rather have a WB that doesn't work cause the gauge looks kool?

Your logic is ridicilious... I'm pretty sure the LC-1 WORKS, just not quite as accurate as the NGK... it also comes with datalogging software for your laptop which i'm pretty sure the NGK doesn't come with. Plus it's cheaper...

Go read on Inovate's website in the Forum, there are literally hundreds of posts about the LC-1 just plain dieing and displaying an error message...

Also if you had gotten a proper tuning solution your datalogging would be taken car of already....

I already have the Recon datalogging that comes from Sniper, it works well but it obviously doesn't log A/F... the LC-1 software tells you your A/F by rpm and logs it and you can see 3d graphs of it etc...

Yeah any equipment can go bad no matter who makes it. Not sure if its operator or manufacturing problems. I first thought the data logging was a nice feature but know I would rather just have a straight WB no extra wires and :q:q:q:q to go. I know others that have had issues with other WB setups. Does everybody really run the fresh air cycle as much as you should??? Whats on your car KK? What did you go with?

:blah:

You can be such an ass sometimes.

Maybe someone would like to datalog without the superior tuning software your royal highness has?

You can datalog the wideband through the xcal, and I would bet you can with the recon too if it has 0-5 volt inputs...

yea I'll have to agree, KK can be an ass sometimes..but that doesn't change the fact that he's 100% correct.

What would be the suggested WB02 of choice "your fastness"?

your "cheaper" logic is rediculous..
I knew you we're only going to "shop by price" and pay no attenion to anything I said, so I ask myself again.."why bother".

KK is right, go read on the innovate forums and you'll see what he is talking about.

IF the LC-1 was even remotely dependable and or accurate I would have jumped on one along time ago.

Are planning on mounting this downstream of your cats? in one of the rear 02 bungs? IF so.. that will make this or ANY WB you get very innacurate due to "combustion still ocurring in the cats"..

True, the problems with the LC-1 is due to both..combined.
probably 50% self inflicted by the end user and 50% poor engineering and quality control on innovates end.

The LC-1 when properly installed is a great entry level wb02 that I would ONLY depend on in a N/A no nitrous environment.

it would be great for a "installed and check" AF ratio, at first..they work great.
Over the long haul they are CRAP.. not just due to the sensor going bad..
ANY WB02 will "dump a sensor".

In the mark 8 installation is going to be two fold difficult.
1. the possibilties for electrical "ground loops" is about 3 times more probable due to the massive 90 miles of wire in the car.
2. the mark 8 pumps ALOT of water thru the exhaust due to the cats.
That water will SMOKE your sensor in a very short time, installation is PARAMOUNT.

to have any HOPE of a dependable system, the sensor MUST be mounted BEFORE the first cat.. on the topside of the pipe.

The experinced tuners I talk to say....
"stay away from both the LC and LM1 and the later LM device".
I tend to listen to those that know more than I...so I saved my money and didn't get LC or LM and am still in "on the fence" mode about those KK suggested.

I have to give him credit, his research is usually very good.
and I have researched WB's extensively.

LOL, I was hoping to actually learn something from this thread?

I guess I did.

Well, at least I learned what NOT to get. :p

I have an old PLX-M300 wideband I hope to learn with.

So where do you install the bung, before the driverside cat? How do you do that when it's attached to the manifold?

I needs to go before the cats... drivers or passenger side doesn't really matter...

Ummm as far as install you might have to remove the manifold cat assembly...

So passenger side you would still have to remove the cat to install the wideband??
