I just replace mine and thought I would share a couple of pics for those who haven't thought it out, sought it out and bought it out...

I grabbed a Heini out of the fridge for reference, not my preferred beer, but it has a clear label...
First the original 2000 Console with ridiculous flip-up cupholders...

Once it was I out I started to clean all the garbage from the previous owner, lottery tickets, old Mcdonald Monopoly peices... and change ... wait here's a picture after all the papers were out, keep in mind I have never put any change in my cupholder for this reason... mau not be easy to see but I got over 5 bucks out of there...

And now with the new cupholder you get one small and one big, first the small one...

And now the big Cupholder... same beer

allright then, I'm now off to starbucks to grab a coffee that I'm not afraid is going to fall over the instant the car moves......

btw there is one on ebay right now identical to the one I picked up...

Can u post the link all i can find is the flip up cup holder?

Thanks for the link. Hey FOZ was the colour match good??

The color match is perfect! The Seller provided the color code in the auction, so I bid confident that it was going to match. I was incredibly impressed with the overall quality and condition of the part. It was in beter shape than the original piece in my car. It looks every bit of factory fresh, Chrome is sparkling and the leather armrest is flawless!

How much? - Yessir it's a 12 ounce heini... I dropped 53+shipping, but was ready to go to 100 of I had to....

The beer's on me, just got to ask yourself if it's worth the ride to Pittsburgh?

**LS Monk -- I was just looking at your photo gallery, yeah we have almost identical whips... I couldn't decide which grille I was going to go with until I saw yours. Definitely! Did you have your lower grille painted? I don't remember seeing too many LS with the dark lower grille.... Anyways just for comparision here's my Forum Debut...

I just picked the car up a couple months ago, the console was my first priority, Tint is just a matter of making the time to make it happen, and it's getting dropped in the spring.... gotta at least make the first winter with it...

Anyhow like your car/ grille

I like that idea. Did your stupid cup holders never flip down all the way. Mine stoped after I let those idiots at a place im sure to get a law suite put on me if I mention try to fix my sst wire harness. Does any one think that a V6 center column would fit and a 5 speed trans could be added to a V8? I never saw the V6 interior. Pluss Im sure theres some trans to fit with some cutting.

The V8 and V6 center consoles are the same; it's just the surround for the shifter that's different.

After dealing with the PCM's expectations of seeing the slushbox, having a bellhousing fabricated, finding a clutch and pressure plate that will fit, and other details, the biggest problem of fitting the manual tranny is the tranny itself--the Getrag is just up to the output of the V6. It's marginal for a stock V8, and a modestly upgraded V8 will overmatch it.

That's certainly not to say that it can't be done; it's just that the center console is far and away the least of your worries with this swap.

But you see I wouldnt use the V6 trans, if that is what your thinking. From what I hear on the outside the 3.9 l V8 is prety universal with other V8's fitting under motorcrafts wings beeing based on it or it beeing used its self but stroked out and the bay reconfigured for say the 4.6l. I might be wrong but thats what a tuner shop told and someone else told me. What Im saying is cant it be done if there is other 5 speed 3.9 l V8's? Pluss cant the PCM be managed for this or replaced by the one with the 5 speed? Like I said I may be wrong Im by far a ford person I just love my Lincoln. Well and my FD3 but thats owned by ford to.

I would be shocked if the 3.9's bellhousing pattern matched anything else Blue Oval--after all, it's a Jaguar block, not a Ford block. Aside from the number of cylinders, it bears no resemblance at all to the Ford Mod Motors (4.6, 5.4, etc); they're completely separate engine families.

Part of the problem is that the Getrag in the V6es is one of the few trannies that will fit in the LS's transmission tunnel. You might be able to use one of the manual trannies from the '05+ Mustangs, but I think you'd still be looking at a custom bellhousing (which really isn't that big of a deal).

There are no V8 LSes with a manual transmission unless somebody out there has done the conversion on his own: all of the LSes that left the factory with a stick were V6es (which would rule out a PCM swap).

If you're thinking about a 4.6L in an LS, start searching. Hoo, boy, has that horse has been beaten to death. ;)

JES_LS is looking at doing a manual tranny swap into a V8, but I don't know what the status of that project is. Maybe he'll chime in here.

Yes I did have it painted. (about 3 months ago) It turned out better then expected. Looking to do the cup holder soon as well as 2003-05 headlight HID conversion. The car is in storage for the winter months and won't be out till mid-April or May. So i have lots of time to find all this stuff.

Thanks for the info, I kinda ment the pcm from the car "with the trans" that I would be pulling from but I guess as you say the engine aint so universal at all like they told me. There is this place near me called PSI that does alot of Mustang and turbo work, maybe Ill see if they can give me info. I actually like my sst and my wife cant drive stick but it makes the car sound like crap sometimes cause it is still automatic.

Thanks Toddg.... Everytime I've gotten in the car since I've done it, I forget then remember and fall in love with the car all over again... I chased an M3 tonight, and didn't spill my coffee! (if you haven't guessed by now I'm a humongous coffee drinker) I was driving slower than your grandparents when I had a coffee in the car!
