Why is former President Carter flapping his yap?

Just watched the guy on the news. Talk about the Worst President Ever spouting off about things he knows nothing about just to sell his damn book. Leave it to guys like Clinton and Carter to open their mouths when the code of conduct clearly indicates former Presidents should not talk about a sitting President. What a yahoo. Thank God he is not our President. The guy doesn't even have a clue what "pre-emptive strike" means. Wolf (I'm) Blitzed-er even tried 3 times to educate him on the meaning and the guy didn't have a clue.

President Carter...please stick to painting houses. That is all you are qualified to do.

But how come I get to listen to Bush Sr and you dont complain about that? I have watched news shows on occasion with President Ford as the guest. Not to mention the god awful hour I spent listening to Mama Bush a few years back. Even tricky dick had things to say in the later years.

Bryan, how come I never hear you say anything like - "I dont like Clinton, but he made a good point when he said xxx" --- Are you so partisian that you cant bear giving any thought or credit to a non republican?

Really my friend, you will find yourself much more well informed if you listen to everyone regardless of party. Neither side is right 100% of the time, Neither is wrong 100% of the time.

That's just it. I do 'listen' to everyone I can. I love the info, from the left or right.

I can't speak to papa bush speaking and if he was talking about US policy, I wouldn't be in favor of it. I am willing to bet he doesn't talk about US policy.

I don't hate Clinton. He was lucky to serve at the time he did. America fortunately saw the risk he posed to the Country and put Republicans in charge of legislation for the 1st time in 40 years to neuter him. As far as Monica went, I guess that type of castration didn't work.:slam

I am defintely more to the right on most issues. I'll agree to that. But then again, it is my belief that the right is right on most issues so I guess that is where I find myself.

Regarding Carter, it is unprecedented for a former President to write a book about US policy. Especially about 'current' US policy. It is flat out wrong. If he wants to be President again, heh, go ahead and run Jimmy. Otherwise, you had your day in the sun. There was NOTHING positive that came out of your administration. For him to sit there and say that this admistration lied and twisted the facts makes him nothing more than a shill for the left wingers.

I have posted many things I thought that Clinton did well. I actually kind of like the guy. I am just upset that he used the setting of the Oval Office to get his rocks off. That is probably the biggest thing I dislike about him. Oh, and the fact that he is a phony and of course the fact the he is married to Hillary.

Don't worry, CNN will run this spot again and again and again.

I find it laughable during the half hour that had Carter blabbing, they left up on the bottom of the screen: Carter: Bush Lied about Iraq planning, (or something to that effect. I forget now.)

Back to reality: The latest thing Bill (It's all about me) Clinton said was a lie at the Rosa Parks funeral about him and his buddies protesting, where he tried to make the whole thing about himself instead of her. If you go back and read the transcript even you will be amazed at the ego of this guy. No, here, I'll post it for you [excerpt]:

There were no segregated school buses in Hope, Arkansas, in 1955, and there were no city buses at all in that town, so Clinton made the whole thing up.

The real reason he sat in the back was because he was a cut-up and didn't want the driver to catch him. But he got caught this time telling a huge whopper at Rosa Parks' funeral.

So remind me again why any of us should say good things about him? You libs call Bush a liar without proof, yet I show you proof of Willie's lies and you brush them off. Hypocritical.

Ive seen him several times, discussing his kid's administration. All psitive of course.

I also have seen him in a documentary or two about the first IRAQ war, along with Dick Cheany, discussing not why they made the decisions they made, along with US policy info.

Personally, I think ex-Presidents can be quite helpful. According to one documentary I saw, Clinton was 3rd and inches from attacking North Korea and Carter negotiated with the North Koreans with Madalyn Albright coming in to finalize the deal that was made that averted our attack. GW chose to not continue the deal from what I understand. Carter has been helpful in numerous situations as I recall vaguely.

The only Ex President I dont remember seeing flappin his yap was Reagan. Maybe he forgot those 8 years? (sorry, couldnt help myself)

Well, and im not researching to back this up, but my understand they resumed building them after GW reneged on the deal.

Your recollection is faulty. The Bush Administration discovered that North Korea was enriching uranium in violation of the 1994 agreement signed with Carter. When the US confronted North Korea, there were first repeated denials, then an admission that they had nuclear weapons, at which point North Korea withdrew from the 1994 agreement.

And I did look it up. :biggrin:

If we had stuck by the Shah or his successors, the history of the last 25 years in the Middle East would have been very different (and the Iranian people would have been better off, too).
