When driving the car in the rain, it starts to sputter and wants to stall. any ideas? I'm guessing coils and plugs.

Thanks

Do you have a cold air intake on it? If you do and its the one that runs down to the bumber you are probably sucking in water.

Leaky cowl seal allowing water to drip onto the valve covers and coils. If you have an '03, it's covered no matter if you're out of warranty.

It is the cowl seal that is leaking. I will need to get it priced out for my '02, unless someone has a part number for me.

Thanks

is the traction control on in the rain... that could cause it as well... my mach 1 use to do it!

I actually opened the hood and could see the water going through onto the block and so on. I could use a part number though.

Thanks again for all the help.

Well, I am not covered and Ford doesn't sell just the seal. i have to buy the whole cowl @ $135 ea. side.

If anyone has another supplier/fix please let me know.

I'm gonna get some new coils but I'm not gonna install them until i get this fixed.
