Which years were the most faulty??

Any year 2000 LS since it was a first model and there has been some problems with the 2003 LS's when they made over 500 changes to the LS. You could consider it a changeover year for the car.

However, all years had certain issues but the 2000 had its fair share.

i dont think to 04-05 is most faulty... probably just has more features to have go wrong... the 2000 is most FAULTY cuz it had alot of faults. being the first year model and all...they made some mistakes. by 2004-05 they knew what things went wrong in the earlier models & had fixed most of them... im sure for 04, there were a few untested new features added that consisted of different equipment used for different things & whatnot....maybe thats where they get the most "faulty" from..

i'd take the 04-05 problems over my 2000 problems in a heartbeat if my 2000 was paid for & i could trade it in... :L and eventually, i'll have a newer one.
 
i wasn't saying it wasn't faulty i would probably order it like this...

Most Fauilty to least. But the last 2 probably should be switched. This was just from my readings. I don't know which issue of CR because i just read magazines at my work on break or lunch so i don't own it. This month or last month.

Actually the two least faulty years would be the 2001 and 2002. I'm not saying they were perfect but according to my Lincoln Service Manager they don't see a tremendous amount of problems out of those years. Of course let's not get in a he said she said kind of debate with this. It's all subjective especially if you own the car that is having the problems.
 
50,000 miles on my 02 LS8 and the only things that have been fixed were the valve cover gasket and ball joint...not too bad.

Phew glad to hear that about the 02 LS8 Cause I just recently purchased one but had to bring it in cause I thought the tranny was slipping it took a hundred dollar deductable to relize that there was nothing wrong with the tranny and that you don't feel when it shift into the next gear, the only issue I had with the car is that the driver side power seat engine gave out and they had to replace it luckly that was covered by the ESP warranty The car came with cause if not I was looking at a 450 dollars to replace it oh and I still have to take it back to the lincoln service dealer cause I don't think they connected the pre set seating on the door So tommorrow it's off to the dealer ship I go to get that resolved. Other than that.....I REALLY REALLY :L :L :L !!!!
 
I have 02.
so far no problems with valve, coil, etc problems others have posted.
at 43K, changed wheel bearing (under warranty).
only out of pocket so far has been mods and new set of tires.
thinking of painting it soon.
damn, garage door dropped down on my hood.
I couldnt go back cause other cars. I panicked!!!
luckily just a minnor scratches.
