Where, besides from Ford, can you get the cooling fan pump. I tried Autozone, and Advance Auto and neither one could find the pump in their system, is it the same as the normal power steering pump? I haven't checked Ford yet but im guessing they aren't cheap there.

No its different than the power steering pump. I think its a Ford only part.

Not to hijack the thread but it is related.

Does anyone know how to get only the fan control valve attached to the fan pump without buying the pump?

Team Ford, Las Vegas, 888-845-6331 or 702-395-5148. P/N FMCYW4Z8C628BA, $383.55. You also need 1 or 2 teflon seals, P/N FMC388898S, $1.02 ea. Be prepared to pull the drive pulley off of the old pump for installation on the new pump

Have you tried flushing the system and replacing the fluid before you replace parts? It might just work for you.

I just replaced the coolant degas bottle, and thermostat. I haven't ever had any problems with the cooling fan on any other cars and this one isn't sucking hardly any air in. I did bleed the system 3 times just to make sure all the air was out. Can anyone explain the components of the hydraulic cooling fan to me. From what I've read there is a fan motor, and the pump, and theres no way to tell which is bad besides a preasure test? Any help to keep me from taking it to the shop would be great lol

Dude

My pump sprung a leak at the main seal, used high mileage fluid to slow the leak. Car would overheat because the pump could not pressurize because of leak. Tried installation of a used pump (bad idea!) too much work involved to find out the pump is no good. More trouble than its worth to fix. Dealer said there might be a kit to switch over to electric, I would do that in a heart beat.

Yeah I'm looking into converting to an electric one, but im not sure of all the parts I would need yet. If anyone has made the switch please chime in and explain it to us. I know you have to upgrade the alternator, and I would need the fan, and fan thermostat. Is that all?

Alright so I was almost positive it was the fan pump, but now I made a new discovery. I drove the LS about 20min to another city, and drove around in the city no problem. It never started to overheat like normal. I then remembered that I had clicked on the air circulation button so that it would circulate the cabin air instead of sucking air in. So I clicked it off, and there goes the temp up a few min later. What is going on here lol Anyone know what this could be?

That pump is a yw4z-8c628-b and comes with the actuator. Retail is $514.82 and LVC is $380.67 gold is $370.67. If you just know it is the actuator p/n xw4z-3783-ca it has a retail of $113.07 and lvc is $88.19 and gold is $81.41.
