Where the hell is the odometer gear? Pics inside...

Please circle where the hell these new gears are supposed to go. I'm completely lost and I am following the T-Bird guide and the odometers do not look the same as the one pictured. Thanks.

If they are for a Tbird, what made you think they would work in a Lincoln? Did they not have any instructions or the person selling them not able to offer any help?

I remember seeing somewhere on here those were the correct gears for our odometers. It also says on the website: {On rare occasions will have one drive and one worm gear instead}

Damnit! I then realized I think my odo is one of those rare occasions, as it has the worm and drive gear pictured:

Also, the instructions it brings me to is a writeup for Mark VIIIs/ 89-97 T-Birds

Other than the worm gear, it still doesn't look anything like the pics you posted, or ones on the site that I can see (is it supposed to replace the yellow gears in the second pic?)...

When I did the gear in my old '94 T-bird it was the gear right by the drive motor that stripped. Looking at your pics it looks like the equivalent gear on yours would be the worm gear coming up to the 2 yellow gears.

That's the weird thing. None of my gears were worn down or broken in any way that I could see. I even spun the worm gear by hand and it rotated the big gear to spin the odometer just as it should. Is it possible that there's a little motor encased spinning that worm gear and it could have stopped working?

Either way it doesn't matter, because when I popped my odo back into my speedo and plugged the cluster back in, the speedometer refused to work. I said screw it and just bought a used cluster off eBay for $30.

That is weird... When I did my T-Bird the drive gear had a tooth missing so it was clear what had to be replaced. I guess the motor could have gone bad...

That's probably your best bet in this case to save you a headache
