I glued mine back on. Used a plastic weld glue and they stay on. They will continue to break unless you carve out some of the plastic where the shifter hits reverse and third and fifth gears.
While my car was still under warranty I had about 6 of the shift boots replaced. I think the cost from the dealer is about $265.00 if you can find one.
Take a look at the photos. You need to remove the "tab" with a Dremel or such or you will still have the clips break off when shifting into third. Also, it helps to remove some of the material where the shifter will hit when shifting into reverse.
