Hi, im new to this forum. I just purchased my 2000 Lincoln Ls for a good deal i think. I paid 8200 for mine with 81000 miles on it. It came with some 18' wheels and so far so good i love this car. Im already looking into the basic mods im just tryin to figure out which exhaust system i like best. Im leaning towards the magnaflow for now. But ive searched everywhere and i can't seem to find any suspension mods such as strutbars. Can anyone help me out with this, Ive seen some pics of some of your cars with strutbars in them. Does any aftermarket company offer strutbars for the ls or are the ones ive seen custom fabricated. I appreciate any help given.

do you have the sport package? (no chrome on the bumpers is a good sign)

the LS already comes with an integrated strut bar - it's under the plastic cowl and triangulates the top of the struts to the firewall.

with that said - I made mine by purchasing two off e-bay, redrilling the holes for mounting to the strut tops, cutting and bending the bar...

no aftermarket

Thanx for the help guys, that sucks there are no aftermarket ones out there. I don't have the means to fabricate my own. Hey quick how much would you charge to make me one. I know when i got one for my maxima i used to have that thing drove like it was on rails i just loved the stiffness. It was a major improvement to that ride considering it was front wheel drive and had limited slip i had way more traction and could go way faster around corners i loved it. Well thats sad im outta luck. And no i guess i don't have the sports package i do have chrome on the bumper. So now that im mentioning it what exactly would be the differences between mine and the sports package? Im i just sol when it comes to aftermarket mods now or what. Honestly i didn't really buy this car for speed even though it has some power to it. I figured this car should last me a while if i take good care of her. Just cruise around in it and occasionally whoop a couple of rice burners. But thanks for all the help guys i appreciate it.

The LS isn't like you maxima. These two cars are like comparing apples to oranges. A strut bar on its own will do very little. As already said, the LS has a strut bar STOCK. It is under the plastic cowl cover. The LS was designed to handle very well one its own. If you want to improve your handling try upgrading the shocks and springs and your tires. Especially considering you have a non sport. You will see the best benefit with those. Only after that would it be worthwhile to upgrade upon the stock strut bar.

I wasn't trying to compare the two cars i was just saying i liked the tight feeling and the steering response i got with the strut bar. My car came with some 18's that are low profile z rated tires with plenty of meat on them. Im not quite sure but i do think this car has been lowered, the guy i bought it from knew nothing he said he had gotten it from an auction. With that being said i do like the feel in my Ls not much body roll at all i'd just like the steering to feel a little bit tighter that's all. Oh well im not too concerned about the strutbar i'll live was just wondering if there were any for this car. Just trying to get a good idea in what mods are out there for this car.

Oh then just one more thing dont' know why im asking because i assume since there are no aftermarket strutbars for this car. But what will it hurt is there any aftermarket swaybars, bushings, etc..for this car. I only mentioned my old maxima because i went all out full suspension upgrade and it was a major improvement. I was just tryin to see if i could do the same for the ls. I just loved taking on cars that would whoop my ass normally on curvey roads. And taking corners 60plus i wouldn't recomend it on cheap tires, but my questions have been answered, again thanks for the help guys.

the only upgrade on the suspension side - all OEM.

The OEM sport package had larger, balanced sway bars. stiffer shocks, 17" rims, ...etc

If you do not have these - then that would be an option.
