Hey guys...I'm sure this has been asked, but I did't really find exactally what I was looking for on the search.

I have a 01 LS V8 WITHOUT the sport package (in other words it has 16" wheels), and I'm shopping around for wheels.

I would like to go with 17's because 17" tires are cheap and plentiful, also I'm not worried about the bling factor...I want it to look good, but I'm more into performance then looks.

What width, BS, and bolt circle are the stock 17's?? I'm not looking to put stock wheels on it (would rather have something lighter) but I figure that should get me started on knowing what BS I'm gonna want.

I know the stock 17" tires are 235 50's I'm looking into putting on 255 45.

Any help/input would be appretiated.

:L

Rims
o OEM 17x7.5, 5x108 (107.95mm / 4.31in), 60mm offset, 4.25 bolt circle
o Stud / nuts (metric) M12x1.5-19mm
Tires
o OEM 235/50r17
o Lincoln alternate 245/45r17

I run 235/45 17 and the speedo isn't off that much. I was looking for low profile, and thought 50 was too much.

If you go 45 profile considering lowering your car so the tires tuck into the wheel wells better. I still haven't done it, but the pics of cars that have with lower profile tires look better than the the stock suspension. I need to do it when I get some money.

I'm actually wanting to keep the tire diameter the same...This is my family car first so I want to keep it as stock as possible.

Mustang wheels won't work. Mustangs use classic RWD wheels - they interchange with my Chrysler wheels. Our LSes use a wheel design that is more typical of FWD cars. LS wheels interchange with Tauri, Sables, Volvos, Jaguar S-Types, Thunderbirds, and probably old Continental, along with God knows what else. Probably Windstars and Freestars, too.

There is not a very good selection of aftermarket wheels for our cars. What is available is largely ricerish, but going with 17s instead of 16s will dramatically improve the selection.

Best of luck. Check Tire Rack or Discount Tire's web sites, as you can look up wheels by type of car - and even see what they'll look like on your car.
