Wheels bought from fire666 cause crash

This kinda thing doesn't happen often. The majority on here are good people - and I've dealt with the Mark VII, Mark VIII and now LS guys.

Welcome to here.

no not sour. i think that they both made mistakes but idont believe that any one tried to screw anyone. with what ive read i think ace was just too anxious to have nice wheels and made a bad choice to put a leaky tire on instead of it getting fixed first. Tire loses air, rim rides ground, rim fails. luckily insurace should pay and no one was hurt.. already learned a lessonon here lol

I agree... good that nobody was hurt... I feel Ace is upset for making a bad choice knowing that the wheels were damaged.

Personally I wouldn't sell to anyone in this forum or even on eBay something that was trash and too dangerous to drive.

All there is between you and the road are 4 wheels and 4 tires.. these are the 2 most important parts of the car.

I don't believe Fire owes anything to Ace but he shouldn't have tried to sell them here for one. Don't sell crap to our membership especially if this is a site you love as I believe it was stated.

We should take care of the membership our community our LvC family... These are our friends not just some shmucks for us to take advantage.

LsUnV2 please follow the links. It was known by fire666 that the wheel had a crack in it.

Might not be the best time to ask... but, did you hit that pole off center? If your lincoln emblem on your grill is still intact, I'll give you $10 for it.

i know j werner but he said he had it repaired. I stated he should have disclosed this but i believe he should have never put a tire on that only holds air for a few hours and drive 45 miles..im sure thats what caused the failure..cute kid though ace have a 10 year old daughter myself

again... welding cast wheels is generally a huge no-no in the first place, and I can't believe any respectable welding shop would have done the work and not informed the customer.

so sounds like there were a lot of things that had to go perfectly wrong for this to happen. glad hes ok though

I have seen repired rims before and like many things if done correctly they should be fine.
one thing I do know is for $20 there is no way in hell it was repaired correctly.

the way I see it. if the crack and repaire was not disclosed at the time of sale then the buyer is intitled to a full refund.
and the seller needs to hope that they buyer dosnt decide to pursue legal action. cuz you bet your ass I would be

legal action could be risky especially if the insurance would find out.. I think there is too much to proove on both sides any way.

Exactly ... one it should not have been sold second it should not have been purchased...

It seems it was known that the wheel was bad on both sides..

Also I believe this issue has been discuss long enough and that both parties know our feeling on the issue and have learned a lesson..

For both thank God that noboy was hurt...

Let's move on and move forward.

Two old adages to keep in mind:

1. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

2. You get what you pay for.

LOL that is so cold

I dont have a clue about the legal end of this but for me its buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oops already been said but in french:)

Hey, I'm offering him to at least recover some cash from this! It's not THAT cold!

sorry so long for the post.. i drive semi and im usualy gone a day or two.. i agree with alot of you.... and no im sorry nate.. i got it right between the eyes. I didnt ever say that i wassent in the wrong at all, i agree with the one who said i got a little excited and put the wheels on withought someone elce looking at them, but i am also a trusting person and when we met i asked him to his face was there anything wrong with them and he said no other than the plug in the one tire.... i opened all the black bags and looked at the wheels and mostly just glanced at them. When i got home i put air in the one and didnt hear any air so i put them all on to drive about 15 miles away not 45.. i said it takes about 45min to get there because of trafic and speed limits... bottom line is i dont think that i should go after him because he got me. I dont belive in tit for tat... all i wanted to know is why he didnt just tell me... he really could have hurt me and my family bad... if he had said look ace, one is cracked but im still giving you a good deal i would have still bought them, now instead of just ordering a new wheel im getting the trouble of getting my car fixed, then paying for a new wheel because my ins wont pay for aftermarket wheels, and then comming up with my $500 ded. dont ever tell someone that something is perfect if it is not because some of us still trust the world.

Well that's too bad... I could use another lincoln emblem!

Have you tried calmly and cooly talking to fire666, see if maybe you can work out a deal and he refunds you some cash. Maybe like enough to buy a new wheel to replace the one that was cracked?

I'm just throwing options other than legal out there... Two adults coming to a comprimise

Two adults coming to a comprimise

I'm willing to bet that if he is willing to lie to his face about the condition of the wheels then he probable isnt the kind of guy thats willing comprimise.

I just went threw an issue with a car I bought. different sinario but similler out come. I was forced to go the legal rout to recoupe my losses after the insurance pay out. it wasnt till I went to court that I found out that I could have got my money plus the total value of the car back again. and had the option to sic my insurance company on the guy after the fact,
had i done all that the guy may have well been finacially finished.
I chose at the time to be nice and only demanded the money back that I was out.
guess what I'm still short 250 bucks. once a snake always a snake.
if I was to do it over again I'd take him for everything i could.

and I recomend you do the same.
you were not in the wrong for thinking that a set of rims that were sold to you in "perfect condition" would be unsafe.

he needs to pay up.

i believe he should have never put a tire on that only holds air for a few hours and drive 45 miles..im sure thats what caused the failure.

Now this is a bold statement. Do you work for the NTSB? What did the x-rays on the wheel show? :p :p

Just poking fun at you, but saying you're sure that was what caused the failure....I dunno.
