Get ready for a rant.

I was up till 5:30am last night installing my RotorPro's kit and attempting to fix a broken wheel stud I have. Problem is....when you try to press in my replacement stud it is about a shave off and will not sit right when at 12 o'clock so fit directly through the hub. The threads on it ended up getting ruined from trying to bang it through, and that wasn't even a success cause it never made it.

Has anyone out there replaced a wheel stud and not the whole hub on a 2nd gen and had any issues with clearance? RockAuto does not list a stud for the 2ng Gen's so I used this Doorman for 1st Gens. They should be interchangeable.

No experience on this particular vehicle, but others. Is the total length of the stud and is the knurl at the same depth as the originals?

I've had a wheel stud replaced on an 04 and it was no problem.

Wish I would have seen this in the service manual before....

It really explains a lot. "1. If necessary, grind the head of a new wheel stud to a "D" shape to clear the wheel knuckle."

I have replaced one of the rears without any issues.
Got the stud from Ford directly.

Good luck man.

What kinds of issues has everyone had with these and how did you guys identify the individual wheel stud that was the problem?

That was easy. It was spinning freely so that I couldn't get the lug off (even with an impact wrench).

Mangled threads required significant torque to get the nuts on and off.

Stud problems tend to be really obvious.
