Whats up

If you buy that you will end up regretting it. You'll think, "Man, I could have spent just a little more money and got a Gen II, with less miles."

General rule of thumb is get an 03-06 because if you get an 00-02 your likely to spend as much in repairs as it woulda cost you to just get a newer to start with.

I agree with tricket and T-money. Unless you come across a 2002 LSE V6 5spd. I'd love to have one of those, the repair bills would be worth it to me to have that rare of an LS.

Also it looked like the check engine light was on and it was running warm. I have an 02 with 198k on it but I think im gonna have to agree with the others. Find an 06. Its what you are gonna wish you had anyway.

These are both good catches. The car is sitting their idling with no gas in the tank, running hot on a spring day in Michigan with a check engine light on. Really not looking so hot...

5k for a gen 1 with 140k on the clock is really no deal either even barring the aforementioned issues. You can definitely do better op

The hood likes misaligned by half inch (near left front, headlight)
could have been in an accident.

other then that is looks clean like he said.

although i agree with perhaps the 2nd gen maybe being nicer overall, the theory that a first gen is in anyway a sub standard car is far from true.. Any car that is near 10 years old will have problems. But saying you might spend less in repairs buying a second gen is just not true... I'm well aware of the 500+ changes made, but a well maintained car is still a well maintained car, I'd put my overall repair cost against a second Gen any day...

Again, 2nd gen might be a nicer car overall (as and newer generation vehicles should be) but saying all 1st gens are junk is ridiculous.

Keep looking. That thing looks about as naked as it can get. What is your budget?

You can get a loaded 03 or an 04 for that. Just gotta get that good deal. Be patient.

expand your search... a used car is a used car... the chances of you taking it back because of a major problem are pretty rare, as long as you take your time when looking it over when buying...

again, right on the edge of being a bit much... at least from a private sale... Im sure you could talk a dealer down.. but your call..
